HCBS Housing Need are looking to recruit additional Locum staff to work within an established team who are responsible for providing out of hours support and advice to those in housing need. At Blackburn Endoscopy Unit, we provide a service that offers all types of Endoscopy for elective and emergency procedures for inpatients and outpatients. We offer all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. We are a friendly, fast paced unit and offer bespoke training sessions alongside our induction programme.

The successful candidate will participate as an effective practitioner within a multi-disciplinary unit, demonstrating effective team work and providing good morale within the department and rotate through all clinical areas to meet service need and professional development.



1. Provide care in the clinical area as an effective member of the team.

2. Establish a safe working environment for patients and staff to ensure patient contact and dignity are not compromised.

3. Arrange the reception, admission, transfer and nurse led discharge of patients, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care within speciality.

4. Take responsibility for a group of patients and act as team leader where appropriate, co-ordinating the utilisation of staff/ Endoscopy lists.

5. Act as named nurse and room nurse in the unit, providing competent assistance during a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including complex procedures requiring the use of PPE and lead protection gowns in Xray.

6. Carry out the decontamination process of endoscopes and have an awareness of general and specific infection control measures and related issues.

7. Demonstrate knowledge of Endoscopy equipment, the function and application of all endoscopes and systems, potential malfunctions and hazards of endoscopic equipment / substances and corrective action.

8. Maintain appropriate department documentation – e.g. profiles, care plans and electronic record.

9. Co-ordinate safe transfer and positioning of patients

10. Assist in the cleaning of clinical areas and equipment, ensuring that the area is clear of potential hazards




Develop professionally through self development – extending own knowledge through the N.M.C’s codes of professional conduct and participate in research and learning projects ongoing in the department.

As a Trainee Train Conductor, you’ll interact with a diverse range of passengers making a positive impact on their journey. You'll collaborate with Train Drivers, Control Functions and support colleagues, as you operate the train doors, assist customers with their travel needs, prioritise their safety and ensure their comfort throughout the journey. We are seeking to appoint a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) from a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional background, to join our Emergency General Surgical team for a 12-month period.

The role entails working across the Surgical Division including our Surgical Wards, Surgical Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit (SAECU) and Emergency Surgical Unit (ESU). Our departments are supported by General Surgical Consultants, Surgical Registrars, ACPs and Junior Doctors. Flexible working is required as we cover SAECU/ESU seven days a week. This role doesnotentail working night shifts, however weekend day cover is required on a rotational basis every eight weeks.

• Intervening earlier to at preconception, during pregnancy and up to 2 years following delivery.
• On-going training of professionals from multiple disciplines.

To provide clinical leadership and first line management for a community-based mental health team in a designated geographical locality within Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will work with senior clinicians and have responsibility for the delivery of high quality and high performing team to a defined population.

To ensure that staff in the team have opportunities for continuing professional development, in order to provide best practice and meet the requirements of registering bodies, and to drive improvements in standards of clinical practice and patient care in line with the NHS modernisation and Public Health agendas.
