As a Progression Job Coach, you’ll work with a caseload of Participants referred to the Department for Work and Pension (DWP) Restart Scheme for support with preparing for, securing, and succeeding in work. Working with them to plan and execute a tailored journey into employment, you’ll help them to remove barriers and maintain their motivation.
Join a place you can grow
You’ll need to be a great communicator, and enjoy meeting and working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and with diverse needs. You’ll also need to be able to combine an organised, methodical approach with creative problem-solving skills. The job can be tough, so resilience and the ability to perform well under pressure are essential. The ability to challenge and motivate others is also an important part of the role, as is decent knowledge of the local labour market.
As part of the Restart Scheme, we have demanding performance targets to achieve, and so you’ll be expected to do your part and contribute high performance in the role. In return for this, we offer:
- Training and development: Level 3 qualifications in Employability and a wide range of other training and coaching opportunities to expand your capabilities, including more than 1,100 internal courses and funding for apprenticeships
- Holiday: Up to 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Pension: Up to 6% contributory pension scheme
- Wellbeing: 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, BUPA Anytime HealthLine, wellbeing app, Simplyhealth cash plans to claim back money towards healthcare costs, 30% off at Serco-managed leisure centres
- Discounts: Save across around 1,000 retailers, from food and clothing to days out, entertainment and travel
- ShareSave scheme: Helps you save regularly with the choice to buy Serco shares at a discount at the end of your savings period
- Employee networks: Dedicated networks where colleagues can come together to find support, share challenges, discuss ideas, network and be part of a community
- Great culture: A fantastic culture and supportive team where you’ll get the chance to make a positive difference in a company passionate about diversity and inclusion
We welcome applications from experienced employability practitioners, and also encourage others who think they have the skills to succeed to apply for the role. It’s a challenging but extremely rewarding role, so if you think you have what it takes, please get in touch.
This role requires an enhanced DBS and BPSS to be completed, including the following pre-employment checks:
- Identity
- employment history (minimum of 3 years)
- nationality/immigration status
