Directs the technical services and programs that support outpatient clinics in surrounding communities. These services provided are direct and have a significant impact in other organizational units' ability to provide patient support. The incumbent's ability to identify and implement methods for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of performing these services and the liaison role the incumbent plays affect the overall operational services to the patients, families, and community.

Plans and coordinates work to be accomplished by sub-areas CT scan, ultrasound, and MRI. Sets and adjust short-term and long-term priorities and prepares schedules for goals on completion of assigned tasks.

Assigns work based on priorities, consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees.

Evaluates and directs work performance of subordinates. Supervises daily operations of clerical and technical staff.

Decides on training needs and submits training requests on behalf of the employees to the Radiology Manager and Radiology Service Chief for approval. Evaluate technical imaging contractors work to ensure quality and standards compliance.

Oversees work of general radiologic technologists, CT scan technologists, MRI technologists, ultrasound technologists, and technology students. Makes decisions on work problems presented by Radiology Manager and Service Chief.

Provides advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both clinical and administrative matters.

Follows established Quality Assurance (QA) guidelines and protocols to ensure integrity, availability, authenticity and confidentiality of imaging data transmitted by the various modalities. Monitors Powerscribe voice transcription and PACS system. Monitors incomplete report list throughout the day.

Participates in the preparation of in-service or continuing education programs of the technical and clerical staff.

Demonstrates new techniques on all new equipment installed in the service with strict adherence to the safe operation of the equipment and safety for the patient.

Responsible for the formulation of plans and scheduled work assignments to minimize overtime costs. Analyzes work requirements and staff resources in order to accomplish assignments.

Resolves staff complaints within his/her realm of responsibility. Answers inquiries regarding patients and patient care with the area of responsibility and training.

Serves as the Service Chief/Diagnostic Radiology Manager's liaison with Engineering to ensure existing equipment is maintained at all times.

Sets performance standards for technical staff.

Responsible for orderly flow of patients through the Service.

Maintains administrative records of staff personnel as required.

Assures supplies are available in all imaging modalities.

Assists in data retrieving and compiling of data for the Quality Assurance/Improvement Program.

Responsible for Quality Assurance, including but not limited to: - Match outside films with VA films and submit for dictation. - File and tracking of outside films for comparison. Ensure required information is entered into the mammography database and is in concurrence with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).

• Serve as the FDNS Supervisor for FDNS personnel at a Regional, District, or Field Office.
• Direct FDNS personnel in the conduct of inquiries (system checks, interviews, and site visits) to validate/invalidate suspicions of individuals and organizations filing for immigration benefits under application and petition types processed by USCIS.
• Direct personnel in the conduct of systemic comprehensive reviews to determine fraud levels and vulnerabilities in the adjudications process, as well as addressing national security and public safety concerns.
• Coordinate efforts with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel and function as their local office's primary liaison with other local and regional, state, and federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies and task forces.

This position is that of a fully licensed and credentialed clinical counselor located within the Counseling and Advocacy Program (CAP) at the Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC). FFSC provides an array of quality of life programs to active duty, reservists, retirees, and their families to enhance personal and family resiliency. Family Advocacy Program (FAP) case management includes the identification, reporting, safety planning, psychosocial and risk assessments, treatment planning, treatment, referral, and follow-up of intimate partner violence and child abuse allegations for active duty military members and their families. Cases may involve multiple difficult and complex family problems including dual diagnoses, violence and impulsivity, suicidal and homicidal ideations and/or attempts, and a variety of other mental health problems. The incumbent also provides assessment, safety planning, case management, treatment, and referral for Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth (PSB-CY). The incumbent facilitates support groups, offender treatment, and seminars/training focused on both prevention and intervention. The incumbent occasionally provides individual, couples, family, and group counseling to active duty personnel and their families. Clinical counseling typically addresses life stressors, family dynamics, and adjustment to military life. Clinical counseling includes the psychosocial assessment of individuals, development of treatment plans, treatment delivery, and appropriate referral. The incumbent also occasionally provides Sailor Assistance and Intercept for Life (SAIL) case management, including: assessment, safety planning, and care coordination for active duty personnel with suicide related behavior. Plans, develops and implements programs designed to foster positive healthy relationships within the family structure.
