The Analytics and Performance team is a growing function within the AASC contract. Summary

Job Description for Risk Practitioner

Working within the BMO, the risk practitioner will be required to support the risk manager on ensuring that there is an efficient, effective and comprehensive approach to risk management. Providing effective controls and assurance to minimise risk events, which result in a negative impact to the organisation/employees/assets and poor customer outcomes, reputational damage or regulatory scrutiny/intervention.

Will be expected to have a good knowledge and understanding of risk management processes and applicable analytical skills, procedures, and tools (such as, but not limited to, Active Risk Manager - ARM) by working closely with fellow risk professionals, Project Managers and teams to collate and challenge inputs to the risk database ensuring they are underpinned.

The location for this role is flexible and can be based at Risley, Workington or Sellafield.

Main Responsibilities for Risk Practitioner

• Support the implementation of Project Risk management processes.
• Undertake analytical analyses, e.g. Schedule Risk Analysis, Cost Risk Analysis at a Programme and Project level
• Reporting and presenting analytical outputs to internal and external customers.
• Supporting, training and guiding Project Team members in the use of risk and issues toolsets.
• Identification of risk process improvement opportunities and best practice implementation.
• Provide governance and assurance with regard to the implementation of Risk Management Processes and data quality requirements.
• Input to Lessons Learned process.
• Produce reporting to comply with the Company risk policy.
• Lead on facilitating identification, assessment, management and analysis of risks within the portfolio of Programmes and projects.
• Assist with identification of and recording of appropriate risk mitigation activities which are measurable and specific, along with assessing the post mitigated positions.
• Supporting the Project teams on a daily basis to maintain detailed risk registers.
• Ensuring that Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) are regularly reviewed.
• Working alongside Project Managers to contribute to the creation of robust, objective and accurate reporting at a portfolio, Programme and project level.
• Support the production of and Reporting latest risk positions and mitigations to stakeholders through regular governance meetings and reviews.
• Monitor identification and closeout of Program level issues.

Essential Criteria for Risk Practitioner

• Working knowledge, experience of risk management tools (such as, but not limited to, ARM) and applying in complex and multi - stakeholder environments.
• Experience of producing, presenting and reporting of analytical outputs.
• Support the improvement of and delivering results against clear and measurable targets and standards.
• Demonstrable evidence of Project Management competences in Risk Management.
• Demonstrable evidence of Project Management competences in Stakeholder Management, Planning and Governance.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Risk Practitioner

• Experience of operating in a matrix-based organisation balancing and meeting the requirements of multiple reporting lines and stakeholders.
• Experience of working in highly regulated process driven environments.
• Logical and diligent with good attention to detail whilst being able to absorb and process large amounts of information.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES MEDICAL DIRECTOR SUPPORT Draft/Produce correspondence reports, agendas, minutes and presentations using Microsoft Office. Arrange and plan meetings both face to face and virtually. Create, manage and update documents and electronical filing systems, maintaining excellent records and following information governance policies. Act as a minute taker for key internal and external meetings chaired by the Medical Director (MD). Update and maintain MD & team holiday and absence records in line with organisational protocols. Manage the timely administration of timesheets, expenses and course booking. Handle incoming and outgoing communication and direct appropriately. Support the Medical Director to run their office efficiently, supporting with Day to day diary management for the MD, using Microsoft Outlook and NHS Calendars: add, amend, delete appointments, send invites, book rooms and venues and forward plan. Set up and co-ordinate internal and external meetings for the MD and the medical team, including Journal Club. Invite attendees, promote, circulate documentation and collate feedback. The MD is also the organisations Caldicott guardian, so support with logging and tracking relevant issues and queries, Meet and greet visitors to the department appropriately. Schedule annual appraisals and regular supervision meetings for the medical team and type up outcomes. Liaise with external partners to ensure all documentation for medical appraisal and revalidation is forwarded in a timely manner. Organise occasional business travel, itineraries and accommodation for external courses. Manage, formalise and distribute the medical team on call weekly rotas. Liaise with the hospital regarding MD consultant on call cover. Provide a point of contact for the MD and medical team during periods of annual leave, as requested. General office administration supporting the smooth running of the team/department MEDICAL PLACEMENTS SUPPORT Organise regular induction programmes for visiting trainees and medical attachments. Co ordinating medical students, GPSTs and shadowing with clinical teams including nursing and AHP teams ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT AND COVER Provide relief or additional administrative support for the Hospices administrative team, across a range of functions, being flexible to respond to priorities and workload peaks and troughs.
