YHA Hartington Hall is a beautiful 17th century manor house with gardens located in the picturesque village of Hartington in the Peak District. The Hall was built by the Bateman family. They were a well-established Norfolk family who settled at Hartington in the 16th century. It has been claimed that Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed at the Hall during the Jacobite rising of 1745.
The property has been ran as a Youth Hostel since 1934, so we were celebrating out 90th anniversary recently.
Accommodation is spread across three buildings and alternative accommodation in warmer months. We also offer all day catering, meeting rooms and events.
Reception Manager role will involve reception shifts, including evenings and weekends, as well as dealing with individual customers, groups, staff management and everyday hostel operation support.

What will you be doing as a Reception and Accommodation Manager?
Our reception and accommodation managers are responsible for the reception operation within the hostel and support with a wide range of customer facing duties. They support the management of an operational budget and delivery of KPI’s and have management responsibility for their team.
Your day-to-day duties may include:

leading the team to provide excellent and consistent levels of customer service to all guests and visitors, giving them a great experience of YHA
monitor and control expenditure within the reception function
managing arrival and departure lists including those of large groups arriving or departing at the same time
rota planning to ensure correct levels of staffing

Our reception managers may deputise for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the hostel’s daily operation in their absence.
What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Reception and Accommodation Manager?
We value lived experience just as much as previous skills and knowledge. We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements.
Our reception and accommodation manager role requires flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks. It’s an advantage but not essential that our housekeeping managers have worked in a face-to-face role with customers previously. Proven experience of working with the hospitality industry would be advantageous including significant experience of working front of house. The management and delivery of a quality customer service is essential.
Qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 within Customer Services, Hospitality, Tourism (desirable). Experience with a variety of guests from individuals and families to larger groups would be an advantage.
Duties vary so good communication skills, excellent timekeeping and basic IT skills are advantages.

Our client based in Derby are looking for a MIG TIG Welder to join their team on a Permanent basis. This is a full-time position in a well-established company who manufacture products for the rail industries. This welder role is 60% shop floor and 40% working away. Accommodation and expenses are paid for whilst working away.

Welder Job description:

MIG, MAG and TIG Welding

Work with gauges 2mm - 4mm

Work on various components that make up train cabs

Working from engineering drawings

General housekeeping

Working to targets

Accommodation and expenses pad for whist working away

Essential Skills and experience:

Skilled MIG TIG and MAG Welder

Must have basic fabrication experience

Confident positional welding including overhead and vertical positions

Flux core experience would be advantageous

Must be able to work from engineering drawings
