What skills and experience we're looking for

At least five years’ experience of working in finance and administration, including the use of ICT

Experience of using Microsoft Office applications e.g. word, excel, power point

Experience of budget planning and monitoring

A working knowledge of Agresso or similar systems

Experience of working in school admin environment

A working knowledge of MS office and Integris (or similar MIS)

Competent in the use of IT packages

Thorough knowledge of administrative and finance processes

Confidence to review established workflow patterns and seek efficiency and improvement wherever possible

An understanding of the confines of confidential working e.g. Data protection

Knowledge of accounting procedures

Understanding of administration and financial school systems including SFVS.

Demonstrable ability to produce a good standard of written work e.g. response to correspondence, reports, minutes, use of spreadsheets

Willingness to attend supervisory skills training

Willingness to attend other training as identified as appropriate and / or required.

Pay rate (Assignment rate): £25.66 per hour

Contract Length: 3-Months

Duties:

• Facilitate and commission People services to meet the needs of a directorate, school or an external client
• Manage a team to ensure the effective and timely delivery of People support
• Collaborate with People Service colleagues to drive forward the HR transformation agenda and work in partnership with the Hub, Agresso, Audit, EDI Team, Organisational Development and Insight & Performance to ensure coherent and joined up service delivery
• Drive improvements in people management practice
• Support the People Business Partner / Senior People Business Partner to understand the priorities of the directorate/client to identify the major people issues and commission appropriate Our People solutions and manage People Service resources to ensure delivery
• Ensure Our People solutions meet the needs of the customer and are delivered in accordance with agreed service standards
• Ensure effective communication between People Service teams and business customers to ensure objectives are met and Our People Services add maximum value
• Support the strategic service group/customer in planning and identifying areas where Our People Services can make a positive contribution
• Contribute to the achievement of targets and objectives of the areas they support
• Build influential relationships in the directorate and across the organisation to gain support for HR initiatives
• Provide positive responsive and accountable leadership to team members and the broader organisation

Requirements for the Assistant People Business Partner role:

Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management or equivalent qualification/equivalent work experience
Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards
Degree or equivalent in HR Management
Experience of managing a team including developing, coaching and mentoring team members to support their development
Extensive experience of dealing with complex issues across the breadth of HR, including discipline, grievance, TUPE transfers, restructures, sickness absence, dismissals, appeals etc
Experience of working with and influencing key stakeholders
Experience of supporting HR procurement projects
Experience of design and delivery of presentations to managers and/or employees
Experience of Policy writing
Experience of working on HR improvement projects/initiatives
