Staff work as part of a multi-disciplinary team which involves supporting people with their asylum claim, referrals to various agencies, enrolment to school / college and much more. Often the people we support require someone who can support them through the night if needed.
I am A and I live at the Kelvin Project. I have travelled alone from my country which is at war. The journey has been an extremely hard and very traumatic. I have no family in the UK. Staff at Kelvin offer me support to become a confident independent person whilst providing a safe and nurturing environment.

Make a Spatial Impact: GIS Technical Officer at East Dunbartonshire Council

Do you thrive on using data to solve problems and improve service delivery?

We are seeking a skilled GIS Technical Officer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the Council’s digital transformation journey.

In this role, you’ll:

• Empower colleagues: Provide specialist GIS support to staff across Council departments, helping them create data-driven solutions for policy development, service delivery and customer service improvement.

We’re looking for someone with:

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as a House Project Facilitator within East Dunbartonshire’s house project. The House Projects supports care experienced young people leaving care to create their own homes and live connected and fulfilling lives. Young people will work through the House Project programme which is SQA accredited. Facilitators will be responsible for supporting young people to complete the modules and upload evidence.

The House project is a trauma informed, relationship based approach, to supporting and working with care experienced young people- supported by monthly consultation with a clinical psychologist. Facilitators are expected to have a flexible, trauma informed approach to working with young people using innovative ways to engage and support dependent on the needs of the young person.

Young people are supported through the delivery of group work and individual work to complete the house project programme. Once a young person moves into their home they continue to be supported by the house project.

The house project is part of East Dunbartonshire’s children and families social work services and as such you will be working closely alongside colleagues from the HSCP as well as third sector.

There are currently two vacancies within the House project 1 full time and 1 part time post; 12 months fixed term. The house project is currently in it’s 3rd year achieving significantly improved outcomes for care experience young people. The funding for this project is currently being reviewed with the hope that these will become permanent posts.

The House Project is currently based at Unit 2 Workspace Kilsyth Road.

The Officer will work with community groups and stakeholders to develop and implement projects relating to the Council’s Greenspace Strategy, Local Biodiversity Action Plan, Green Network Strategy and Food Growing (emerging).

You will ideally have an ecological or Streetscene-related background, have proven experience of successfully working in this environment, and knowledge and experience of project development, procurement, data management, implementation and sign-off, in accordance with safe systems at work. Working and forging partnerships is an important element of this role, as well as securing third party funding. Communication skills are key, both written and verbal along with an enthusiasm for helping partners and communities improve their local space.

A full driving licence is essential for this role.
