Here at Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, we have a new opportunity available for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team. The role will be based at Service Headquarters (Salisbury) with the flexibility to work from home / DWFRS Stations / Support Offices. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis - 37 hours per week and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £39,186 - £42,403 per annum (pay award pending) (rising by annual increments to £42,403).

The role has a significant travel requirement across the Service, in particular to Warminster, Westbury, Trowbridge, Bradford On Avon, Melksham, Devizes, Calne, Pewsey, Marlborough, Ramsbury, Potterne, and West Moors.

As the HR Business Partner you will:
Champion, drive and embed the HR agenda within their geographical area of the Service and ensure its integration in the business planning process.
Understand and lead transformation within the business and its requirement to advise and support delivery of the business.
Provide expert advice, support, and guidance on employee relations issues to managers and staff on issues such as conflict resolution, mediation, investigation, disciplinary, grievance, capability, and attendance/sickness issues.
Support and advise managers on recruitment issues.
Develop relationships with and provide support to the managers within the Service ensuring best practice is implemented and work closely with them to deliver their objectives to enable delivery of the business plan.
What makes you our ideal HR Business Partner?
Good working knowledge of employment law with experience of applying legislation in practice.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deal effectively and professionally with people at all levels within the organisation.
Recent practical training experience of employees and line managers in HR policy and procedures.
A qualified member level of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (MCIPD) or have relevant demonstrable working experience at this level.
Able to build and maintain strong working relationships and demonstrate a positive attitude to internal / external customer care.
Self-motivated with the ability to work practically and logically and use initiative.
Experienced in using a range of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Other Information:
You must have a full current driving licence and be able to fulfil the significant travel requirements of the role. Use of your own vehicle will be required; however, a Service vehicle may be available. Please note Service vehicles are manual transmission only. The role involves some evening and weekend working.
A Standard Disclosure & Barring Service Check (DBS) clearance will be undertaken on the successful individual prior to offer of employment.
