Key Responsibilities

A national charity who provide accommodation services for various support needs are recruiting in Colchester for an Intensive Housing Management Worker, where you will provide essential tenancy and support services to young people, helping them manage their accommodation and navigate housing needs.

THE ROLE
As an Intensive Housing Management Worker, you will play a key role in supporting tenants in managing their tenancy, accessing benefits, and connecting with support services. Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting tenants with tenancy management, benefit claims, and referrals to relevant support services.
• Conducting assessments of tenants, addressing risks, needs, and eligibility for services.
• Collaborating with the Housing Management Team to issue and explain tenancy obligations during new sign-ups.
• Coordinating with the Asset Management team on property standards, timely repairs, and safety for occupancy.
• Ordering furniture and goods for properties as needed.
• Maximizing rent collection and managing arrears in line with policies.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with the local community, landlords, and key internal teams.

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar housing or tenancy management role and will demonstrate the following:

• Familiarity with housing benefit processes and service referrals.
• Experience in tenancy and rent management, including arrears resolution.
• Understanding of tenancy law and housing policies.
• Excellent communication and community-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly across multiple areas when needed.

THE CONTRACT

• 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
• 6 months, with potential for temp-to-perm transition.
• Pay rate: £17.07 per hour (LTD) or £14.55 per hour (PAYE, inclusive of holiday).

Children's Home Manager

Service care Solution are currently recruiting for a Children's Home Manager in Witham.

As the Residential Children's Home Manager, your primary responsibility is to oversee the

effective operation and management of our residential children's home, prioritising the

needs of vulnerable children and young people.

Main Responsibilities

As a Children's Home Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Overall Management: Responsible for the overall management and smooth running of the residential children's home, ensuring that it operates in line with regulatory standards, organisational policies, and best practices.
• Staff Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of residential support workers, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and equipped to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in the home.
• Care Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement individual care plans for each child or young person in the home in consultation with relevant stakeholders such as social workers, parents, and guardians. Ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed and updated to meet changing needs.
• Safeguarding and Child Protection: Maintain a safe and secure home environment for children and young people, always adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures. Act promptly and appropriately to address any safeguarding concerns or incidents that may arise

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS
• Experience in a similar role
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services; or equivalent; or preparedness to work towards the same
• 5 years of experience working with children in a residential care environment in the last five years and at least one year as a registered manager.
• Full UK Driving Licence
