The role involves responding to a wide range of enquires in relation to council services so knowledge of council services is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. To provide the highest level of customer service, you should have experience of working in a busy, customer focused or contact centre environment. You should have excellent verbal and written communication and IT skills. You will have excellent customer care and call handling skills, with the ability to take ownership for the decisions you make and work effectively as part of a team. You should demonstrate a flexible approach to work, an ability to prioritise tasks and a willingness to learn and evolve with the service as it develops.

Other areas will include the monitoring of partnering of contractor performance and related outcomes, managing and reporting on complex service enquiries and complaints and supporting a range of wider business improvement initiatives including the deployment of mobile technologies across operations.

You will also be operationally responsible for a range of regulated and legislative services and have responsibility for the day to day management of a range of staff and administrative resources.

You should have an SVQ3/HNC in a relevant discipline or equivalent trade/ apprenticeship qualification and extended relevant experience, preferably in a housing maintenance and or a construction environment, including financial and personnel resource management.

Customer/Sales Account Manager
Permanent and Full-time
£26,000 - £30,000 per annum
Hybrid working
Wednesbury based

Key duties:

• Generating new business
• Proactive retention of the customer base
• Identify opportunities for new business
• Cross-selling and up-selling products
• Maintaining market knowledge
• Liaise with other departments
• General customer service

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience working in a sales environment
• Confident, approachable telephone manner
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyse and work with sales data
• Experience using a CRM or salesforce
