Esteem MAT currently has fourteen special schools and alternative provisions (AP’s), including one mainstream primary school with an ERF for children with autism. We have big ambitions to become one of the leading trust’s nationally for SEND, as we look to expand further in neighbouring regions, to provide a ‘world-class’ education system for children and young people with SEND.

You will be an experienced Headteacher/Executive Headteacher of a special school. Alternatively, you will have relevant experience of evaluating the performance of special schools in a comparable role, such as an HMI, Ofsted inspector or LA/MAT school improvement advisor.

We seek an exceptional individual to support the delivery of our Education Development and Improvement Framework (EDIF), with a focused determination to drive educational outcomes for pupils with SEND. You will have a forensic focus on the progress and experience of every pupil. Extensive knowledge and understanding of current evidence-based strategies for improving the quality of education in special schools, and the ability to ensure the effective implementation of these strategies, is essential. You will be committed to ensuring every pupil is provided with a high quality and inclusive education within our schools.

This will be a demanding but incredibly rewarding role. You will work alongside, be fully supported, and warmly welcomed by an exceptionally talented central education team. The team is strategically led by our Chief Education Officer, Clive Lawrence, OBE. The central education team also includes a Director of Education (AP specialist), Director of Safeguarding, Data Manager, plus a wider team of school improvement advisors and family support staff.

The successful candidate will manage their own diary, providing improvement and quality assurance work to our schools based upon ‘educational risk’. In addition, the role will entail some outward facing work, as and when commissioned by the DfE, LA’s and other MAT’s. Given the current educational/SEND landscape, we are wanting someone who will fully engage with policy development, initiatives and research at a local and national level.

This role is responsible for providing a uniformed specialist service and leading a team of Security Officers, including a CCTV Operator, in their duties. Ensuring that patients, visitors and staff are given advice and provided with a safe and secure environment in line with legislation and particularly in emergency situations. This will include communication with emergency services.

The post holder will protect people and property, detecting and preventing crime including operating and controlling access and key control systems.

Fundamental to the role will be dealing with issues regarding challenging particular patients, visitors and staff, where difficult circumstances prevail (e.g. smokers, abuse issues, car park incidents and unwelcome visitors). The Trust has a policy and guidance for the prevention and management of violent and abusive behaviour, this role will involve aiding in applying the agreed techniques.

About The Role
The Old Orchard is a picturesque 5-bedroom bungalow situated in the large village of Radcliffe-on-Trent, overlooking the River Trent! We support adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities with associated sensory needs to live the life they love! The individuals we support here at The Old Orchard love all things cooking, we're often found in the kitchen cooking up a storm and making all sorts of culinary delights! We love meeting up with friends from other services and spending time out at the local coffee shops and parks. We love getting stuck into arts and crafts, and love kicking back and relaxing whilst watching an in house show! The local area also has lots of lovely countryside to explore and small shops, cafes and pubs to socialise in too!

An opportunity has arisen for you to join our highly focused, dedicated staff in the role of PE Teacher. Teaching across key stages 3 and 4 we are looking for an excellent practitioner who can deliver innovative and creative lessons which challenge and engage students to progress academically and develop personally during their time at the academy.

The opportunity

This post would suit either a new entrant to the profession or an experienced teacher. We would welcome a teacher returning to work after a career break and will consider part time or flexible working where possible.

We endeavour to utilise each teacher's specialism and offer the opportunity to teach A level in our sixth form centre for the right candidate.
