Key Responsibilities:

• Manage costs and resources, including waste control, labour, and spare parts, to optimise maintenance efficiency
• Oversee the CMMS system to ensure effective planning and execution of maintenance activities

• Implement innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency

Candidate Requirements:

• Ideally educated to Degree Level in an Engineering discipline
• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, gained within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
• Expertise in Mechanical and Electrical engineering disciplines
• Strong track record of team leadership and development, with a demonstrable track record of leading a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers
• The ability to manage multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet the ongoing changes in operational priorities
• Excellent knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
• Continuous Improvement mindset, ideally with experience of driving CI and Operational Excellence projects

The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Your new role

• To ensure the prompt completion of all work orders for planned maintenance, reactive response, specialist subcontract work orders and remedial work orders.
• To provide Routine and Specialised Engineering Maintenance and breakdown support to a specific hospital site.
• Provide competent Technical, Health, Safety and Environmental support & assistance as required and act as an exemplar of company policies and procedures.
• Provide training, mentoring and hands-on assistance to any additional Site-based Technicians or Engineering Assistants.
• Provide engineering support and advice to the local hospital managers as required.
• Demonstrate a can-do culture based on exemplary engineering standards in an environment of open and honest integrity.
• To help build and develop a strong team ethos.
• Work at any Circle Health Group Hospital within the cluster to cover for engineering absence or to supplement labour, attend meetings, or to provide specialist advice or service to site, e.g. AP duties, Mechanical, Electrical or Air Con duties to ensure continued effective operational coverage.

What you'll need to succeed

• Current Construction Safety Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card at the appropriate level of qualification.
  If electrically qualified, the current Electro-technical Certification Scheme (ECS) Card is required (Persons without the appropriate card will not be considered).
• City& Guilds Part 3, ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering essential
• Willingness to act as AP and RP Medgas as required is essential.
• Time served apprenticeship in a Mechanical or Electrical based discipline is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety guidelines, statutes and ACOPs.
• Understanding of L8 Legionella ACOP within hospital buildings
• Demonstrated high level of organisation & time management skills, particularly in an environment with multiple, and sometimes conflicting priorities.
• Sound fault-finding techniques and ability to read drawings.
• Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.

Preventative Maintenance System

• Update and maintain the schedule
• Conduct walk rounds and visual inspection
• Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance of all equipment

Breakdown and Repairs

• Mechanical
• Electrical where permitted (legally)
• Plumbing
• To be part of the 'call out' team

New systems installation

• Electrical installations, cable routing etc - non-electrician work
• Mechanical installations
• Pipe work around factory
• Paperwork checks
• Logistics

Control of cost center and ordering

• Raising and checking purchase orders - to be handed to Maintenance Manager
• Obtaining quotes for work required
• Time sheets work and liaising with 3 rd party contractors
• Purchasing consumables

Administration

• Help in the preparation and implementing/ training out of, Risk Assessments (RA) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Preparing Method Statements for tasks and jobs to be done
• Training of other Maintenance team members & operational staff
• Control of contractors and their paper work

Utility Supervision

• Participate in the energy management system
• Check sampling equipment
• Cold rooms running to correct temperatures & settings
• Actively monitor and challenge water usage & wastage

Electrical Engineering Manager Qualifications / Experience Required:

• Existing mechanical engineering qualification
• 18th edition electrical qualification - required
• Effective Communication Skills between all levels within the business
• Time Management - ability to work to set deadlines
• Ability to work as part of a team and also confident / competent to work on own
• Microsoft Office Skills (Excel & Word proficient), Outlook Express (Task and Diary management),
• Working knowledge of electrics
• Understanding of the 'Permit to work' system
• Driving Licence (clean/current)
• CCTV Knowledge
• IOSH Managing Safely
• Welding and fabrication
• Carpentry & Plumbing
• Refrigeration knowledge
• Knowledge of PLC units
• Understanding of Bulgarian Language
• Previously worked in a Food manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of food safety (Basic Hygiene)
• An understanding of health and safety requirements and implementation in the workplace.
• Training towards or achieved CIEH Level 3 Awards in Food Safety
• Ability to issue permits under the permit to work system
