Trainee Engineering Manager (full training provided)

If you have experience in an engineering environment, hold an NVQ, completed an internship or higher level of education in an engineering related discipline or have Military experience in an engineering environment and have a genuine passion and drive to further your career within this field, then this could be the opportunity for you.
We are looking for systems-thinkers who we can train and develop to work across a range of exciting design, integration, construction and commissioning projects within our customer's defence and infrastructure space. You will be dealing with complex systems, and you'll develop critical assets from initial requirements through to design, construction and commissioning.
As part of the extensive programme, you will receive a blended learning approach. This will include a bespoke 10-week up-front training programme to provide you with the necessary tools, experience, and training to help develop your skills within Engineering. The training will be centred around the systems engineering framework, covering systems thinking, systems engineering fundamentals, requirements engineering, architecting, product design, systems engineering and architecting standards, model-based systems engineering, systems integration, and systems testing.
Following this 10-week training programme, you will be allocated to the role itself. Spending your initial 12 months doing the role as an Experis employee as you put your training and existing skills to use. You will receive mentoring from our customer's existing employees and support to help you succeed in the role itself. The aim of our programme is for you to transition to become a permanent employee of our customer, bringing with you all the training and awareness that you have developed to enable you to work on cutting edge Systems Engineering solutions.
Day to Day Responsibilities will include:
- Elicit, analyse and translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
- Undertake requirements derivation and architecture development.
- Undertake modelling to explore problem space and potential system solutions.
- Undertake requirements verification and validation and support technology teams' derivation of verification and validation events, test cases, test plans and test specifications, to support integration activities.
- Undertake test results analysis and documentation.
- Perform trade studies and analyse the relative benefits/merits of competing solutions.
- Drive development and delivery of viable technical solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Support the Engineering Manager in their delivery of their Key Responsibilities, reviewing Engineering Requirements.
- Prepare draft technical specifications and briefs.
- Manage the Design Intent and Design Information Configuration from inception through to project handover.
- Provide functional support in identifying and implementing change, development and improvement.
- Setting up meetings and reviews and managing stakeholders.
- Flexibility to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.
- Gathering data and technical information to support the project.
- First point of contact for technical queries. Maintain technical query and change registers.
- Produce draft project governance documents, plans certificates etc.

- Proactive worker with capability of operating with minimal supervision
- Be a good communicator, both written and oral, and able to liaise at all levels with customers and stakeholders
