The Company

PSPS (Public Sector Partnership Services) is a Local Authority Trading Company (LATCo) which is wholly owned by East Lindsey District Council, South Holland District Council and Boston Borough Council. The Role:

The Financial Services Department take pride in their ability to deliver a wide range of fully managed finance functions for our client councils leaving them free to shape and deliver essential public services across their districts. The department provides high quality end-to-end financial management on behalf of our client councils, providing advice and support to a wide range of service departments.

The Financial Services Department also provide client councils with products and solutions for making payments to its business partners and suppliers as well as delivering and maintaining several complex financial systems that support day to day delivery of financial services.

You will manage and support three Strategic Finance Managers who each oversee a Business Partner Function in the preparation of the annual revenue and capital budgets, monitoring of financial performance of those budgets and support the completion of the final accounts for` our client councils. The Person:

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious finance professional with relevant skills and experience to lead our client function which supports the end-to-end budget management process for our three Local Authority Clients.

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this is a chance to help redevelop and shape the financial support provided to our client councils as we respond to the exciting challenges that are presented by recent formation of the South East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership.

You should be a CCAB qualified accountant and have experience of local government finance. You will possess the ability to lead and motivate a team as well as manage workloads within tight timescales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responding to requests and inquiries of limited partners and their representatives via telephone and email

• Drive Tech Opportunities strategic technology and data initiatives in coordination with Bain investment and technology teams.  Manage and further develop asset management and financial reporting software system.

• Select, negotiate terms, manage and partner with key fund service providers and lenders including Fund Administrator, subscription lenders, valuation consultants. Negotiate and administer contracts with such service providers; assist in negotiation of accounting/reporting and asset management agreements.

• Work with Compliance on any regulatory reporting and audit activities

• Partner with centralized Bain Capital functions: Firm FP&A, Treasury, Coinvest, General Partner, Corporate, Tax. 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following professional skills and experiences:

• Minimum 15-20 years of demonstrated relevant finance and accounting experience [with at least five years’ experience in a lead role].

• BS or MBA in Finance or Accounting required; other additional relevant advanced degree and/or certification such as a CPA or CFA strongly preferred.

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Director, Finance Systems and Analytics is responsible for the implementation, technical support and improvement of various Finance technology applications – including Workday Finance and Jaggaer - acting as technical lead for project workstreams related to data conversion, integration and reporting.

They lead efforts internally and externally to ensure that leading-edge technologies are employed efficiently and effectively, working with all levels of the business including Finance functional business partners, central ITS and vendors.

Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will teach courses at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels in finance and/or related subjects; participate in service to the Finance Group, D’Amore-McKim School of Business, Northeastern University, and the discipline; and develop an appropriate research program necessary to achieve and maintain AACSB qualification as a Scholarly Academic.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a doctorate in Finance, or a closely related field by the appointment start date. Candidates for appointment at ranks above the entry-level must have at least 4 years of college teaching and/or professional experience. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and research, and must have a background in or commitment to working with diverse student populations and/or in culturally diverse work and educational environments.

About the Opportunity

Salary Range

$56,680.00 - $85,015.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.

Position Summary

As the Absence Product Senior Manager, you will collaborate on all aspects of Guardian’s Absence product portfolio, working in close partnership with the Absence Product Lead.  In alignment with the overarching Group Benefits strategy, you will help support the development and execution of product strategies to drive market-leading growth and deliver value to our customers and stakeholders.

You will play a critical role supporting the group benefits efforts to remain competitive in a rapidly changing Absence marketplace, which will include monitoring and responding to evolving client needs, state and federal policy changes, and the competitive landscape.  

You will partner closely with strategy, sales, account management, finance, underwriting, claims, technology, and operations to construct resonant and differentiated end-to-end product value propositions, deliver strong economic value, and ensure effective operational delivery.  You will actively monitor all aspects of the value stream from quote to claim for the Absence product portfolio and the competitive landscape, applying knowledge gained to enhance existing products and design innovative new product & features that position Guardian as a market leader.  

You will:

Overseeing all aspects of Guardian’s Absence product portfolio, you will:

• Partner closely with your manager, the Absence Product Lead, to execute the product strategy and multi-year roadmap.  The roadmap will be inclusive of all necessary maintenance activities, planned enhancements to the products & related capabilities, and new development activities.   

• Partner with business partners to identify new features and enhancements that will result in improved client & member experience, increased sales, participation, and persistency
• Lead and collaborate with cross functional teams to execute the product strategy through collaboration with underwriting, sales, marketing, enrollment, service, claims, IT and finance
• Support strategic planning processes to ensure product positioning capitalizes on revenue opportunities.
• Manage products in market to ensure they are performing as desired by developing and monitoring key metrics and having collaborative discussions with distribution, underwriting and pricing
• Work closely with technology and operations to define capabilities and processes required to effectively execute and deliver the products and capabilities to partners, stakeholders, and customers
• Bring external insights into the organization for the purpose of understanding evolving client & member needs and marketplace trends

You are:

You have:

• 7+ years of experience in Group Insurance product or similar role, with 2+ years of experience working with Absence products
• Deep knowledge of competitive practices and trends in the Absence market
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks
• Technical understanding of product and customer requirements along with the ability to lead large- and small-scale product development initiatives
• Highly effective negotiation and influencing skills; proven ability to influence across a diverse group of stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills, the ability to interact and influence cross functionally, build relationships, and drive change
• Highly analytical, with strong critical thinking skills
• At least a four-year degree in marketing, business, or related field
