What is the job role?

We are recruiting qualified Social Workers to work within our Mental Health Teams in Coventry. We have a number of social work posts, you will be based at Swanswell Point, Coventry City Centre.

You will be supporting people who are living with a range of mental health challenges including psychosis, mood and personality disorders, and self-harming behaviours.

The Teams work towards specific interventions embracing strength-based recovery practices, Safeguarding, The Care Act, Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts. The Teams are fully Multi-Disciplinary, incorporating Community Mental Health Nurses, Approved Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Peer Support Workers and Clerical Staff.

JOB SUMMARY The post holder will be working closely with the Associate Director of Nursing, Associate Director of Operations, the General Managers and the Associate Director for AHPs. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate strong AHP leadership and provide highly specialist AHP advice. The post holder will be expected to provide clinical and professional leadership including support, guidance and representing the broad views of the AHPs within childrens services and will need to achieve a level of visibility that enables these views to be represented equally from all professions and to inform a clear AHP/ Nursing strategy for the organisation and wider system. The post holder will be expected to interpret national guidance in relation to children and young people and advise on the implementation within the modernising and changing environment of all AHP professions provided by the Directorate. • You will be based at Swanswell Point and lead 2 Team Leaders, Approved Mental Health Professionals, Social Workers and Community Case Managers
• You will provide line management, professional supervision, reflective practice and quality assurance.
• You will be an Approved Mental Health Professional.
• You will have managerial experience and have the ability to work closely with our partner NHS agency, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust, voluntary organisations, other statutory agencies and with groups, communities and individuals with lived experiences.
• You will support your team to address the social determinants of mental ill health, including housing, debt management, substance misuse and recovery based activities supporting people on their ‘best life’ journeys.
• You will work in partnership with people with lived experiences, co-producing, facilitating and promoting independence.
• You will help deliver the principles of the Care Act 2014, The Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, you will support strength based practices within a least restrictive framework.
• You will be part of a Senior Management Team across Mental Health and Adult Social Care services and help develop quality assurance and have a strategic vision.

Key Result Areas Act as a named Health Visitor for a defined team caseload. To develop a team caseload profile, assessing needs as Universal, Universal Plus, Universal Partnership Plus. Develop and implement strategies to improve Public Health through Health Education, Health Promotion activities using evidence based research and practice. Leading and delivering on the Healthy Child programme 0-5, working with partner agencies to improve outcomes for children. Plan, implement and evaluate health enhancing activities through home visiting, community development, clinic, workshops, technology and parenting support. Early identification of children and families needing support through use of single assessment process if required to include other members of the multidisciplinary team. Act in accordance with current local Warwickshire Safeguarding Board and Trust policy to protect children at risk. Delegate and supervise work undertaken by the skill mix team. Promote and maintain good record keeping that conforms to NMC policy, data protection and Health Visitor record keeping standards. To facilitate and organise the induction of new Health Visitors and support staff to the Trust. To escalate any concerns as appropriate to your Clinical Lead. Knowledge, Skills and Experience To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work ensuring a high standard of clinical care. To provide effective clinical leadership to the Health Visiting team, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible care standards ensuring evidence based practice is used. Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures relating to child protection. Participate in risk assessment & decision making process at child protection meetings, providing written reports, and health advice when required. To prescribe using the Nurse Formulary to ensure prescribing is undertaken in a safe, cost effective manner. Be flexible to the needs of the service.
