The Recruitment Co are currently working with a large Public Sector body in recruiting for a Band 5 HR Officer based in Musgrave Hospital.
JOB SUMMARY / MAIN PURPOSE
The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision of an efficient and effective Attendance Management service to the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that their key objectives, relating to the Attendance
Management service are achieved. The post holder will liaise with HSC Pensions, Occupational Health Service, Trade Unions, Payroll Service Centre and External Agencies (Workable/MH Charities, Office of Care and Protection etc.) on a
case-by-case basis. The post holder will also liaise with managers and staff within the Directorates, on matters relating to Attendance.
The post holder, while working under the direction of the HR Manager, will be the first point of Attendance Management contact for specified Directorates, providing advice and guidance in line with the Management of Attendance Protocol.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of an Attendance Management function that ensures the business complies with relevant legislation.
- To provide professional advice, support and guidance relating to the Managing attendance Protocol and associated terms and conditions in line with the policies and procedures and Human Resources best practice across all staff groupings at all levels.
- To work closely with each Directorate they are aligned to, ensuring that the attendance Management service they deliver is in line with the Attendance Management Protocol, is responsive to the Directorate's needs and supports
- the HR Business Partner.
- To attend meetings with managers in the service to present and discuss sickness absence levels and provide advice and guidance to support managers to address absence issues on a case-by-case basis.and encourage timely and accurate HRPTS sickness absence recording.
- To work collaboratively with managers and HR Employee Relations colleagues in relation to those sickness absences linked to Conflict, Bullying and harassment issues in order for staff to return to work.
- To assist managers, staff and HR colleagues by providing Attendance Management information for responses to enquiries, complaints and investigations.

Essential Criteria:
Degree or relevant professional qualification at graduate or diploma level and two years' experience in either a Human Resources Role or a Role which includes Attendance Management, 1 year of which must be at band 4 level or equivalent.
Training Practice or equivalent and 3 years' experience in either a Human Resources Role or a Role which includes Attendance Management, 1 year of which must be at band 4 level or equivalent
