Unknown Resourcing are looking for 2x Principle Engineers – H2 to join our R&D Engineering client in Essex. The Principle Engineer – H2 / Hydrogen roles are an exhilarating permanent position to contribute to the advancement of future transportation technology. The successful Principle Engineers will be responsible for a small team of Design, Project Engineering team, including both Mechanical and Electrical R&D engineering to work on Future transportation development projects. You will ideally have experience in the following sectors, Automotive, Marine, Heavy plant, Decarbonisation or Hydrogen experience would be advantageous.
Principle Engineer H2, Future Technology responsibilities:
Owns the technical development of one or more development projects. Responsibility includes all technical aspects of the product, including but not limited to mechanical design, electrical design, system performance (diesel displacement), compliance to all legal requirement.
Strive to obtain an expert level understanding of all technical knowledge with reference to design and legislation of your product.
Responsible for the audit and quality of the designer and support engineer’s work.
Responsible for team communication, motivation and development to ensure technical knowledge and skills are developed and kept up to date with industry and certification standards.
Ensure the project is delivered from concept through to completion following all steps of the gateway process.
Carry out technical investigations of field problems, and provide technical solutions. Conduct project reviews to ensure continuous learning and improvement are built into next generation processes and products.
Co-ordinate with team members and utilize own engineering skills and tools to meet product requirements, program delivery and business objectives.
Monitors project budget and product cost.
Co-ordinate activities with the required stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental policies that affect the relevant work areas.
Liaise with Notified Bodies, product owner, production and procurement throughout the projects.
Ensure compliance and lead safety analysis including FMEA and HAZOP.
Represent company in a professional manner in all interactions.
Working on other projects and tasks as and when required.
Principle Engineer H2, Future Technology Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field of study, or an equivalent by experience.
Experience in any of the following is preferred and highly valued:
• Industry / Heavy Duty application product development
• Certification
• Hydrogen and / or Fuel cells
• Oil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc
Strong technical knowledge and engineering skills, with proven ability to deliver against time, cost and quality targets.
An eye for detail in technical content.
Communicate project status, technical information, and risks to Chief Engineer and stakeholders.
Understanding of engineering product development for industrial/heavy duty applications.
Experience of gateway processes and reporting.
Ability to work on complex projects and multi-task effectively.
Computer and software systems skills such as MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional ownership of technical content.
Good organizational skills.
Must be self-motivated with excellent follow through.
Ability to travel for 20% of the time. There will be a need to work at times in different company locations in Netherland, /Belgium and UK based on project needs.
