About the Role:
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in the secure decommissioning of one of the most significant nuclear fusion projects in the world? Rullion is partnering with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) to find an experienced and committed Security Officer to join the JET Decommissioning Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a groundbreaking field and contribute to the safety and success of nuclear fusion energy.

In this role, you will monitor alarms, conduct periodic patrols, and communicate essential ventilation alarms for the JET facilities. Your vigilance and proactive communication will support the secure decommissioning of the JET project, a milestone in nuclear fusion research.

Key Responsibilities:
* Alarm Monitoring: Regularly oversee and monitor alarms related to site security and ventilation systems.
* Routine Patrols: Conduct routine patrols within the JET facility, ensuring all safety protocols are in place and maintained.
* Communication and Reporting: Respond promptly to alarms by notifying relevant team members and assisting in the coordination of appropriate responses.
* Shift Coverage: Work a 4-on, 4-off rotating shift pattern, which includes 12-hour shifts alternating between days (7 am - 7 pm) and nights (7 pm - 7 am), covering key holidays including Christmas and New Year's Day.

What We're Looking For:
* Attention to Detail: You'll be responsible for critical monitoring and must be able to identify and respond to potential issues quickly and effectively.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication is essential for effective coordination with team members and in emergency situations.
* Physical and Mental Resilience: Ability to work in 12-hour shifts, including night rotations, maintaining focus and efficiency throughout.
* Experience in Security Roles: Previous experience in a security role, ideally in a high-sensitivity environment, is preferred.

Your new company
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Security Escort at HMP Bullingdon in Bicester. A category B, the prison has a capacity of 1,114 and is a resettlement prison with a focus on men at the start of their time in custody and as they prepare to transition back to their communities. The prison also holds individuals on remand and those with short sentences.

Your new role
Working as a Security Escort, you will be responsible for escorting contractors as they carry out maintenance work around the prison for a variety of different projects. Duties will include:
* Full body searches for contractors as they enter and leave the prison.
* Tool checks.
* Patrols.
* Ensuring that health and safety standards are achieved throughout the contract.
* Attention to detail when monitoring work.

This role will require you to work Monday-Friday, 7.30 - 4.30 with an hour's unpaid lunch.
This is an ongoing temporary contract but can lead to a career with HMPPS.

Premium rate: £14.00 (inclusive of holiday)
Weekday Overtime: £17.41 (inclusive of holiday)
Weekend Overtime: £22.92 (inclusive of holiday)
Please note, the clearance process involves BPSS and Enhanced level 1 clearances, which can take between 1-2 months to complete.

What you'll need to succeed
You will not require previous experience as you will receive full training. You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills.
You will be required to complete BPSS and will be subject to full prison clearance, enhanced level 1. You must possess a UK driving licence.

How will a day on the job look?

You will be frequently communicating between the Rossi Security Head Office and the client throughout the job. You are the first point of contact for anything security related such as random searches, staff searches, TAG detector procedures, fire drills, and alarm checks. Typical hours: Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16:00

As a Prison Security Escort, you will work alongside the prison service, assisting our client who is responsible for the maintenance of the buildings. You will be a part of security team where you will escort and oversee contractors such as carpenters, plumbers and electricians, whilst they complete their maintenance work.

Duties of a Prison Security Escort Include (but not limited to)

• Checking the identification of the contractors
• Checking contractors have been briefed on security measures
• Booking in and out of the contractors
• Creating a tool list
• Escorting contractors through the prison to their place of work
• Overseeing contractors whilst they are working (Please note you will have to stay with the contractors at all times)
• Checking contractor tools are all accounted for prior to leaving work area
• Using the radio to request permission to move contractors within the prison

Shift work
- 2 x Days 12 Hrs/2 x Nights 12 Hrs followed by 4 Days Stand-down, one of which is a contracted (and rostered) Duty Cover shift.)
Here at Serco, we are currently recruiting Security and Traffic Officer based at RAF Brize Norton. This role is responsible for the effective delivery of the Serco contracted security/reception duties under the instruction of the security shift supervisor as directed by the security manager.

Main responsibilities of the role include:


- Maintain a record of daily duties in a pocket book which will be maintained daily and may be requested to recall incidents in a Court of Law.
- Control the access and egress of vehicle traffic, military personnel, visitors, contractors and Unit employees at the RAF Brize Norton main gate.
- Control the flow of traffic/pedestrian
- Checking ID cards and vehicle permits to ensure only permitted individuals gain access to the unit.
- Assist in the search of vehicles, visitors and baggage when delegated.
- Provide welcoming service ascertaining the requirements of individual visitors, contractors or deliveries and on the production of the relevant ID
- Respond to and carry out emergency procedures as and when delegated.
- Provided a vehicle escort service to visiting/delivery/collection vehicles for ESA and Air Cargo.



What you’ll need to do the role:


- UK Driving License for car (essential) no more than 6 points.
- Be able to hold a colour perception category of the required standard to enable the issue of an Airfield Driving Permit.
- Ideally hold a SIA License (Not essential)
