The Role
As a Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Essential Experience of the Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist:

• Ability to work in cross functional teams and experience of stakeholder management as well as influencing skills.
• A sound understanding of end-to-end sourcing and supplier management processes together with an ability to identify and capture incremental value in an operational working environment.
• Experience of planning and implementing supply arrangements, managing supplier performance and scheduling of deliveries.
• Good understanding of cost models / business models particularly in relation to the NEC models, familiarity with accounting practices, commercial audits, forecasting and valuations and supplier costing models.

• CIPS qualified (or working towards) and recognised as a procurement professional with substantial experience in the profession.

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000pa

*£3.5k per month living allowance if over 50 miles from project site (to support with accommodation, travel, meal costs etc while on assignment away from home)*

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares contract documents and bidders list.
• Prepares, issues and manages the bidding process.
• Leads early engagement activities with potential suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develops and maintains database of local UK Supplier and Subcontractors.
• Support and attend Process/Project audits.
• Leads and manages the evaluation process through the distribution of quotations, preparation of the commercial portion of the bid tabulation, and collaboration with engineering and construction regarding the technical and constructability evaluations. Makes recommendations for selected bidder(s) and who to award.
• Leads, schedules, coordinates and manages the negotiation process. Able to resolve complex commercial terms and conditions exceptions.
• Manages the award and conforming process.
• Able to resolve mildly complex claim or dispute events with vendors.
• May lead the solicitation of budgetary pricing for equipment, material, or labour to support estimating/proposal efforts for a non-major project or projects.
• Proficient in the basic functions of the vendor database.
• Trains others in the function of a Procurement Representative, with minimal supervision.
• Files appropriate record documents and follows Corporate and project filing rules.
• May be responsible for developing set-up documents and processes for new project(s).
• May provide input to portions of new and/or revised procedures or documents.
• May be required to support other procurement duties, including expediting, procurement administration, closeout and proposal development.

What a great candidate looks like:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, Construction Management or related field (preferred). Relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience
• Project Procurement Management experience
• Experience on large projects (£400M+)
• Engineering & Construction background, experience with large firms strongly preferred
• Experience using Procurement and ERP software
• Proven leadership of procurement teams
• UK Market knowledge and experience
• Energy-from-Waste and/or Hydrogen Process EPC project experience would be beneficial
