What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (overtime per business needs)
Accountabilities
- Perform critical inventory tasks according to client and operation needs and requirements.
- Keep and maintain critical documentation for reporting purposes.
- Maintain effective business relationships with customers and operations departments.
- Work independently on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues.
- Manage multiple tasks through effective prioritization.
- Understand and follow work rules and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Build trust and camaraderie between team members.
- Inspire and motivate teamwork for achieving goals, completing essential changes, and impacting positive outcomes.
- Set clear team goals, delegates tasks, sets deadlines complete with clear and timely feedback.
- Oversee day-to-day operations.
- Listen to team members’ feedback and help to resolve any issues or conflicts.
- Communicate expectations, assignments, and responsibilities clearly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Some college/college degree preferred.
- 3 to 5 years Inventory Control experience preferred.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with excellent written oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent understanding of inventory control policy and procedures.
- Solid computer skills, especially MS Office with proficiency in MS Excel.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, and Word) experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in a position that requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, and reaching with ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

- Works with minimal degree of supervision. Has latitude to make decisions in exceptional circumstances within established guidelines
- Provides guidance to less experienced team members
- May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise
Pay rate: $25.80 per hour
