Serco Defence provides our customer Logistical support of the prestigious Skynet contract which provides satellite communication services to the UK Government and Armed Forces. We have an opening for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team, key aspects of this role involve providing Logistics Support and undertaking Logistics activities to a high level.
The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for providing logistics support to meet MoD operational requirements. You will carry out inventory management through the maintenance of accurate records of equipment storage and movement, complying with all Health & Safety Requirements. The successful candidates will be joining a supportive team and a friendly working environment.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Liaise with other Logistics personnel, customers, and outside agencies as appropriate.
- Provide Logistics Support of new business, associated projects, and upgrade programmes.
- Ensure customer demands are dealt with promptly and delivery times are met.
- Ensure assets are correctly managed through issue and receipt of stock, ensuring stock is accounted for using SAP and other accounting tools supplied.
- Ensure equipment remains in the repair loop for the minimum time through the efficient processing of defective equipment to repair agents.
- Comply with all regulations with regards to equipment movement to customer and outside agencies.
- Interact with all stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective resolutions to issues.
- Carry out deliveries in accordance with contracted timeframes.
- Undertake regular vehicle checks, reporting all vehicle defects.
- Ensure all driving hours are recorded and full understanding of driving hour regulations.
- Comply with the Business SMS Polices and Standards, GSOPs, CSOPs, DDOPs, and Skynet LOPs / Skynet contract and KPIs / and the site Business Continuity Plan.
What you'll need to do the role
- Full Clean UK Driving Licence
- IT literate, knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, and Access.
- Previous experience within a warehousing, stores, or similar environment.
- Forklift Trained preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
- Experience of MoD Supply Systems preferred but not essential, training will be provided.
- Good time keeping skills and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Please note that overnight stays may be required on occasions.
- UK Residency for UK Security Clearance.
