The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Plant Technician in our Energy Services Operations team based in Port Kembla. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
Being a part of a cross-functional team, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks and Boiler and Turbine Attendants duties. These tasks include rounds, monitoring, daily routine inspections, performance tests, on-site troubleshooting, cleaning, plant set-up, isolation, startups, and overhaul work. You’ll ensure streamlined communication within the team, as well as respond to any emergencies and alarms. You’ll contribute to the teams success and ensure we are meeting customer requirements, with a strong focus on safety and the environment.
This opportunity supports a 7 day, 12-hour day shift.
What Will You Do?
Sharing your knowledge and providing technical guidance to the Energy Services Operations and Asset Development teams, you will:
- successfully contribute to a safe working environment
- ensure equipment is available as required to enable department Controllers to deliver energy and process streams to customers and maximize energy efficiency
- review and report on the performance and condition of the equipment
- collaborate with cross functional teams about plant and equipment issues
- proactively supporting the team with any ancillary work and any additional support when directed by the Operations Coordinators
