Selection Criteria:

Based residentially in Port Hedland, Karratha, Dampier area and Fremantle(WA), the position involves field work, irregular out of hours and weekend work.

In this position, you will handle all matters while adjudicating a loss and presenting the claim package to the carrier for settlement. Large Loss Desk Adjusters must manage and coordinate vendors, field adjusters, insured representatives, and other parties to ensure each claim is properly handled. The Large Loss Desk Adjuster position will also be addressing supplements and handling represented claims with an attorney or public adjuster.  This position will also handle contents and any ALE presented by the insured.

Qualifications:

• Investigate, analyze, and determine the extent of first party property losses and damages.
• Experience working with PA/Attorneys, contractors, and vendors for claims resolution.
• Effectively communicate with policyholders, agents, and service providers via phone, email, and internal systems to accurately document claim details.
• Ability to successfully manage a pending claim load at varying stages of the claims process.
• Interpreting and applying the details of an insurance policy to ensure the accuracy of payments and claims declinations is a must.
• Ability to understand loss estimates, engineer’s reports, and construction terminology.
• Update and maintain comprehensive claim handling notations in our electronic claims management system and other related applications.
• Ability to set the proper reserves, address diaries, emails and voicemails in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Understanding valued policy states and knowledge of which perils apply and when tendering limits is appropriate.
• You are currently licenses or eligible for licensing as an adjuster in the states of: TX, CA, NY, WA, CT, OR, NM, KY, AR, NC and AZ (we can provide assistance with your licensing fees).
• 5+ years of experience as a desk adjuster at the carrier level as a large loss residential.
• Strong letter writing skills related to policy interpretation is a must.
• Reliable high- speed internet connectivity required.

Type of Position: This position can be fully remote, and the assignment is expected to last 3-6 months and beyond.  We do require 1 week of on-site training at our office located in Midlothian, TX.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May be responsible for one or more of the following:

• Provide full administrative support, including phone support, typing reports, filing and distribution of correspondence

• Schedule and coordinate meetings/special events, as requested

• Assist in lease administration activities, including tenant contacts and insurance information; generate reports

• Prepare and coordinate bid proposals, service contracts and approved invoices. Assist in bidding process and assist Property Manager(s) in their efforts to ensure compliance with C&W’s policies and procedures

• Prepare and code invoices for Property Manager’s approval

• Ensure office is stocked with office supplies and other required items to maintain the office

• Ensure prompt and accurate completion of contract and certificates of insurance information in contract administration software

• Track and file contracts and insurance certificates; maintain follow-up system for expirations

• Monitor and maintain the property maintenance work order system and prepare monthly reports for Property Manager on status of tenant work orders

• Maintain the property purchase order system

• Maintain lease and contract files, as well as other files located within the property management office

• Promote and foster positive relationships with tenants and clients and track service calls as required

• Assist with monthly and quarterly management reports as well as annual budget preparation

• Process management and maintenance staff hours, tenant bill back invoices through accounting, expense reports, monthly meter readings of properties, and check requests for review and approval
