The Centre will expand orthopaedic surgical capacity across Kent and Medway, playing an important part in elective recovery and the reduction of patient waiting times across the region.

The Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre will work alongside our existing services to provide care. Our amazing Maidstone Orthopaedic Centre (MOU) and Maidstone Short Stay Unit (MSSU) will all continue.

You will receive structured training to work in this specialist area whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide a consistent and high standard of patient centred care.
• Help to safeguard the health, safety and welfare of staff, patients and visitors, and to protect the patients Privacy & Dignity
• Be aware of legislation and policies governing theatre practice, particularly in terms of universal precautions
• Preparation of theatres for surgery
• Cleaning of theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, also adhering to the weekly cleaning schedule
• Restocking of cupboards and stock containers against agreed stock levels.
• Collect and escort the patient, and assist with transferring of the patient from trolley to table under supervision of trained staff.
• Assist with safe positioning of patient on operating table.
• Act as circulating person for the scrub team and within the scope of the role.

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to come and join the cancer services team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join the Therapy Assisted Discharge service (TADS) at Maidstone Hospital.

TADS is a team of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and therapy assistants that enable early discharge from hospital by providing access to therapy assessment and rehabilitation at home within 24 hours of discharge from hospital. The team is part of West Kent Home First and works in collaboration with community health, social care and voluntary agencies.

TADS operates from 8am to 6pm seven days a week. The post therefore involves joining a seven day roster with opportunity for flexible working hours and enhanced rates of pay. Relocation expenses may be payable to the successful candidate providing eligibility criteria is met. This will be discussed with short-listed candidates during their interview.

We are looking for someone with a commitment to multi-disciplinary working, excellent organisation and communication skills and a proactive approach to personal development. You will be the Programme Lead and support with the strategic development and embedding of the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), working in conjunction with the ED Management and clinical teams, the ICB and the Flow Directorate. Cancer Services are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Oncology Team. This is a new role to the Directorate and the successful candidate will play an integral role in driving improvements in patient care.

You will play a crucial role in providing support to the Management Team within Oncology. They will be involved with managing teams and leading on projects and work streams within the Directorate. Oncology are looking for an individual who can work collaboratively with other services, and with multi-disciplinary teams, to ensure that the strategic service meets and achieves national performance indicators e.g. 28 day diagnosis, 62-day first treatment, and all quality, activity and financial targets and indicators.

The role is challenging so you must be hard-working, adaptable and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will need good listening and communication skills and be able to deal with people both internally and externally in a sensitive and professional manner. The ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to Trust policies is paramount.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to deliver the highest standard of care in treating and preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted infections and HIV, with partner notification/ contact tracing processes, applying public health principles, to reduce transmission of STIs/HIV and to improve the sexual health of the community.

The candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication and administration skills, to facilitate comprehensive care to the local population

You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, which would involve working late shifts, weekends and also to work at satellite services on a rotational basis as required.

The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

We are looking for a Support Secretary/Administrator to join the Theatres & Critical Care Clinical Administration Unit based at Maidstone hospital.

We are passionate in supporting our staff to develop and have great opportunities for career progression.

You will be working in a busy department which generates a high volume of typing and administration. You will require excellent interpersonal skills and able to deal with enquiries in a polite and efficient manner.

The role involves the running of the main IT system responsible for the administration of all Operating Theatres across the Trust.

You will be IT literate, able to meet deadlines and have excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of Theatreman and PAS would be highly desirable but are not essential, as training will be provided. You must be methodical and organised in your approach and thrive on the opportunity to provide support at all levels.

You will be the main contact for enquiries with the Theatreman System, liaising with clerical and clinical colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the Department. In addition you will be responsible for regular report generation and information gathering. You will also be supporting your colleagues within the CAU with general administration tasks where required.

In return you will be part of a friendly team where everyone’s contribution is valued and you will be well supported in your personal and professional development.

There may be the opportunity of a contract extension/substantive post at the end of this 6 month post for the right candidate.
