About the role

Work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. To undertake cover supervisor duties where required by the Academy Principal. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting teachers in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

• Liaise with staff and other relevant professionals and provide information about pupils as appropriate.

We are seeking to recruit a class-based Learning Support Assistant at Buckminster Primary School. This is initially a fixed term position, 20hrs per week, until Friday 11th July 2025, but with the potential to be made permanent. Hours are 8.30am to 1.30pm. Monday - Friday, term time only plus the 5 inset days (39 weeks).
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant who will work as an assistant in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher and support from our team members.
You will be required to provide support for teaching and learning activities as well as 1:1 support for SEND children. This may include providing general support for whole class learning activities or supporting individuals or small groups of pupils to reinforce new skills or knowledge. Lunchtime and breaktime cover are part of the role.
We are looking for someone who is reflective and skilled and can motivate and encourage children as required. You might want to consider this as a stepping stone into teaching and apply to train within our Academy Trust or you might want to develop your role across our schools in the future within a specific area such as behaviour support, ASD children or pastoral needs.
Experience of working with children with SEN and knowledge of Child Protection and Health and Safety policies are essential.
It would be desirable that you have an NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent or some experience of working with children. Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English are essential, or currently working towards. Along with good interpersonal skills, you will be emphatic with children and young people, and be able to work effectively as part of a whole school staff team.

The Mowbray Education Trust (MET) is a multi-academy trust currently educating around 2,500 children from the age of 2 to 16 in the town of Melton Mowbray and surrounding villages in the Borough of Melton. What skills and experience we're looking for

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Specialist Learning Support and Cover Assistant to support the work of our English and Humanities Faculty on our Ruskington Campus.

Provide additional skilled support and capacity within the Faculty, key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Working in partnership with teaching staff to raise the learning and attainment of students.
• Supporting teaching staff to assess student needs and progress, using detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support learning and promote student independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.
• Giving support to students, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
• Providing priority support for Pupil Premium students who have additional needs not met by an EHCP
• Providing EHCP support where required.

What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you have experience of working with young people aged 4– 11?Are you an enthusiastic and committed Care Assistant looking to join a warm and welcoming school? You will have a talent for engaging children and will be required to work flexibly across all age groups and abilities. This role may include elements of personal care for students with additional needs.

You will encourage acceptance and inclusion of children with special needs and assist with their personal care. There will be opportunities to develop within the school and make a valued contribution to our children's learning.

We have fixed term role available, starting as soon as possible. You will be working 32.5 hours per week, term time only

Who are we looking for? We are in search of a Learning Support Assistant to join our Education Centre based in Boston. The Boston centre has an experienced team of staff who support their learners along their education journey to be able to achieve their qualifications, as well as enriching their courses with trips, work experiences, careers advice set in an inclusive environment. What will I be doing as a Learning Support Assistant? This role is to support the learners identified with SEN within the centre, in lessons as well as support needs in communal areas. Working alongside the staff team to ensure an inclusive approach is taken for the learners to be able to achieve. Duties include (but are not limited to): • Identify and maintain focus on achievement of desired outcomes for learners across all subject areas looking at a variety of progression destinations to ensure they are preparing for and participating in suitable opportunities. • Have a good understanding of all learners’ needs, including LDD/SEND and supportive strategies that are included in the group profile and initial assessment. • Actively engage and motivate learners in decisions that affect them whilst supporting the delivery of tailored programmes that cater for the specific needs, interests, and abilities of each individual learner • Provide feedback to teaching staff on progress of learners, against targets set, including qualifications and pastoral support needs. • Develop relationships and liaise with appropriate external agencies in support of learner’s needs and work collaboratively in a multi-agency setting as required. LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT – 36 HOURS PER WEEK/Term Time Only

Due to the continued growth of the college, we are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic individuals to join our team of staff supporting students with their learning and additional support needs. You will proactively support teaching and learning, both in and out of the classroom including supporting learning with identified students and generally under the supervision of the teacher. You will also ensure that all students, including those with potential additional support needs, are given the opportunities they need to reach and exceed their potential.

A good standard of English, Maths and IT skills are essential, along with previous experience of working with students with additional needs in an education setting. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships with all customers.

The salary range for the roles are in line with the Sixth Form Colleges Support Staff Pay Spine Point 5 currently £22,736 per annum (Full time equivalent). As this role is 36 hours per week term time only the actual salary is £18,837.10 per annum.
