About the role
This post within our established intelligence team plays a key role in developing and delivering our intelligence–led ways of working. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly competent analyst to take on a national role, and an opportunity to use your talents to make a real difference to people using care services across Scotland.

The Senior Intelligence Analyst will be a technical specialist, who will lead and oversee the production of a variety of analytical products. They will manage aspects of the intelligence team’s day-to-day work and provide line-management support and development for a small team. They will be proactive in identifying opportunities to develop intelligence-led working both within the Care Inspectorate, and with the many external organisations with whom we collaborate.

About you
You will be educated to SCQF level 9 in a subject which includes a significant numerical component, you will ideally come from a background which includes statistical analysis, intelligence analysis, data science, operational research or business intelligence. You will be expected to work with colleagues at all levels in the Care Inspectorate therefore, in addition to your advanced technical and analytical capabilities, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, and be capable of conveying complex findings clearly both verbally and in writing.

You must have experience of providing professional care and support to older people particularly those who have a mental health diagnosis. The candidate will be experienced in the supervision and support of a large team of professional support staff and be able to manage the service in the absence of the manager. Moving and Handling training together with an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is essential for the post; CSS, DipSW or equivalent is desirable. You will be required to also complete Supervisory units of SVQ 4. The candidate must be able to register with the SSSC as a Supervisor in Care Home Services for older adults and hold or obtain the relevant qualification within the regulatory time scale. The candidate will also need to obtain and maintain a PVG scheme membership.

You will work 33.25 hours per week which will include nights and weekends on a shift rota basis.

The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Senior Cryo-EM Support Scientist to join the School of School of Infection & Immunity.

The post holder will join us at the Scottish Centre for Macromolecular Imaging (SCMI, https://www.gla.ac.uk/research/az/cvr/facilities/scmi/). The SCMI is a consortium of 4 Scottish universities with an interest in cryo-EM – University of Dundee, University of Edinburgh, University of St Andrews, and University of Glasgow, where we are based. We deliver high-quality single particle and tomography data to users from our consortium partners and externally using our flagship CRYO ARM 300 microscope. We also run a sample preparation laboratory and microscopes for negative staining and cryo-screening. These are mostly used by users from University of Glasgow in our role as their local cryo-EM facility but are also available for external use. The work is varied, with many projects and users coming through the facility. On average, we have around 30 active users each year, from total beginners through to experienced principal investigators.

The primary role of this post will be to support SCMI users to achieve high-quality cryo-EM data through user training, preparing specimens for imaging and operating the SCMI electron microscopes for data collection.

The postholder will be a motivated scientist with a proven interest and aptitude for biological imaging and structural biology.

This position is full time (35 hrs per week) open ended.

We’re looking for a Senior Audio-Visual Installation Engineer to join our team. This is a chance for the right candidate to further their career in the growing audio-visual market as one of our trusted, senior members of the team. This is a hands-on role that would see the candidate working with our installation team on various sites and projects. Our ideal candidate would have:

- Experience in a similar level audio-visual role or be ready to step up from a more junior position
- Experience working on commercial premises and construction sites

- Be committed and self-motivated, with good organizational skills
- Ability to prioritise works to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
- Ability to work effectively using own initiative and as part of a project team

Reporting to the Service Manager day to day duties would include:

- Installing cabling and containment systems to current standards and a high quality finish
- Mounting, connecting and commissioning audio-visual equipment
- Updating and recording details of work done on our cloud-based job management system
- Demonstrating equipment to clients
- Assisting Installation teams and other departments with technical queries
- Attending project meetings – both internal and client-facing when required
- Mentoring Junior AV Installers

Essential Qualifications and Experience

- Full UK Driving License
- Minimum 3 years practical experience in any Audio-Visual Role
- Ability to install and commission modern video distribution and control systems
- A good understanding of audio and video signal flow, routing, and processing. In both the analogue and digital domain
- A good understanding of TCP/IP networks use in the AV industry
- Experience in using control protocols including RS232/485, IR and TCP/IP
- Experience in implementing modern ethernet based audio visual distribution methods (Dante, AVoIP)
- Experience in commercial tv distribution systems (traditional IRS and IPTV)
- Able to confidently terminate, test and troubleshoot the following connectors (VGA, BNC,F-type, RCA, XLR, 3.5/6.3mm Jack/RJ45)
- Able to correctly select appropriate cable types for the application at hand.
- Ability to interpret and work from plan drawings and schematics.
- Experience in the Layout and building of equipment racks
- Familiar with Digital signage systems and their topology (Onelan/Brightsign)
- Experience with lighting control technologies (DMX, ArtNet)

Locations/Hours

- This is a permanent full-time, field-based role.
- The standard working hours are 0800 to 1630 Monday to Friday. Regular overtime will be available including working on projects across the country.
- While our premises are in Hillington, due to the geographical spread of our work we encourage applications from all over Scotland.
