You Have:  

• 10+ years of experience with Army operational or sustainment planning and executing Mobilization Operations, Deployments Operations, Sustainment Operations, Redeployment Operations, Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations, Deployment Readiness Exercises (DRE), and Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) exercises

• Experience incorporating and applying the use of ATP 3-35, AR 525-93, FORSCOM 55-1, and ATP 5-2-1

• Experience working at or with an Installation Transportation Office (ITO), Corps Transportation Office (CTO), Division Transportation Office (DTO), and Composition III (COMPO III) Deployment and Distribution Support Teams (DDST)

• Knowledge of the Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES)

• Knowledge of TC-AIMS II introduction, access, and functions

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

• Secret clearance

• HS diploma or GED

• Graduate of the Unit Movement Officer (UMO) Deployment Planning Course

• Graduate of an Air Load Planners (ALP) Course or ICODES Joint Air Load Planners (JALP) Course

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Related

Education:

• Assist other health care members in providing patient specific detailed education regarding adequacy measures where appropriate - Online Clearance Monitoring (OLC), Adequacy Monitoring Program (AMP), Urea Kinetic Modeling (UKM), and regarding disease process/access.

Treatment:

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.

Staff Related

• Assists in training of applicable direct patient care staff on appropriate programs under the supervision of a nurse.

Education/Communication:

Responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines. Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Related

Education:

• Assist other health care members in providing patient specific detailed education regarding adequacy measures where appropriate - Online Clearance Monitoring (OLC), Adequacy Monitoring Program (AMP), Urea Kinetic Modeling (UKM), and regarding disease process/access.

Treatment:

• Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.

• Evaluate vascular access for patency, perform vascular access cannulation, and perform administration of heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.

• Obtain necessary pre and post treatment vital signs and weight and perform vascular access evaluation pre- treatment

• Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD).         

• Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed.   

• Monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy. 

• Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion; perform all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment - document.       

• Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures and evaluate patient prior to termination of venous access - standing & sitting blood pressure

• Obtain Hemostasis and apply appropriate dressings.   

• Evaluate the patient prior to discharge.

• Perform and record Pre and Post dialysis evaluation, weight, and vital signs with initial identification        

• Responsible for calculating and entry of individual patients’ dialysis machine programming for Ultrafiltration (UF) goal; treatment time; and UF modeling as prescribed.          

• Responsible for ensuring appropriate safety alarms are enabled, including Narrow Venous Limits, (NVL) 160.    

• Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification      

• Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.         

• Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the registered nurse or supervisor.

• Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy. Report any change or unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.

• Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.

• Evaluate patients’ vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed, document and report any unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.

• Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.      

• Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.       

• Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.       

• Monitors patients performing self-care under the supervision of RN.

Staff Related

• Assists in training of applicable direct patient care staff on appropriate programs under the supervision of a nurse.

Education/Communication:

• Follows all organization business policies, procedures and systems incorporated into training, including compliance with ethical business practices

• Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.

• Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.

• Conduct all tasks necessary for preparation for dialysis treatment and document where appropriate and perform all required pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing including Pressure Holding (PHT).

• Initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system.

RECORD KEEPING:

• Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.  

• Enters all treatment data into the designated clinical application in an accurate and timely manner.           

• Review treatment sheets for completeness, ensure nursing signatures are documented, and ensure

omitted entries are completed or corrected by appropriate staff.

• Prepare initial patient chart for admission and compile paperwork for appropriate placement in chart.

• Prepare/print lab requisitions for prescribed or stat Lab specimens according to laboratory destination.      

• Collect, label, appropriately prepare and store lab samples according required laboratory specifications.     

• Ensure collection of lab specimens by appropriate lab courier.

INFECTION CONTROL:

• Assists in collecting  information for infection control audits.       

• Supports staff and patient Adherence to infection control practices.         

• Follows infection control Policies and Procedures          

• Participates in and reinforces infection control education of patients and families under the direction of the CM or designee as allowed by state law.

TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT:

• Follows all newly admitted patients through their first 4 weeks of dialysis and coordinating their transitional dialysis care 

• Reinforces all education and care related matters as it relates to the new patient           as allowed by state law

• Liaisons with appropriate FKC staff members to provide the best patient experience including making sure all disciplines are scheduled to see patient according to plan.      

• Assists in assuring patient understanding or home dialysis products, benefits of home and how home dialysis can work for them.

• Sets and preforms a treatment on all machines used in the transitional care unit.

• Assist in assuring patient understanding of treatment options including demonstration of the peritoneal dialysis set-up.

• Assists with coordination of transition to patient’s modality choice.         

• Assists with supply ordering and inventory for TCU

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Reception, handling, and management of requests from customers of both franchises.
• Attention to all commercial representatives of both franchises.
• Monitoring of product prices. And confirmation that the price is updated.
• Receive the order of the consignment, process it, and generate the replacement of the same.
• Ensure the correct billing of all consignments received. And the correct ringing.
• Responsible for uploading Alcon's invoice to customer portals for timely payment.
• Control of the status and tracking of orders.
• Control the availability of products and their codes.

• Scope is one Customer Operations function for both Franchises, Surgical and Vision Care, including all 12 sub-processes within pre-order, order and return process streams for local market / cluster.
• Manage local / CO teams and operations and drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement by implementing organizational structures and processes locally / in cluster (including virtual and physical centralization opportunities).
• Develop a culture in line with International Operations Vision to make every customer touch point brilliant
• Align with Head, Customer Operations Region on the local / cluster aspects of the transformation plans of Customer Operations (CO) into intelligent E2E service centers and to become a more customer centric organization and execute against those plans .
• Secure all OTI strategy execution, processes and contribution to the commercial and economic success, customer loyalty, reputation and culture of Alcon.
• Execution of CO strategy, organizational design of teams and processes within market / cluster with following scope:
• Pre order stream: preparation of Tender, management of Quotes and Contracts, creation and maintenance of Customer-, Price-, and Material Master data.
• Order / delivery stream: interface between customers and Alcon in terms of sales order creation, secure order conditions, back- orders, sample management, shipping compliance, consignment stock inventory, obsolescence, unsterile IOL handling, C-Pak handling.
• Return / credit note stream: customer invoicing and invoice shipping, return material authorization, carrier and RDC coordination, credit notes issuance.
• CO optimization, standardization and automation execution, including virtual and physical centralization, including leveraging regionally provided services e.g. 2nd level support for IRIS IDoc management and for defined sub-processes, mainly in the areas of pre-order processes and returns / credit note sub processes.
• Non CO tasks, until handed over to respective functions, e.g. fitting advise for contact lenses to support fitting process of ophthalmologists and opticians or Vigilance Management for Vision Care (in cooperation with Medical Safety).
• Own all CO processes on country / cluster level and build and foster trusting relationships between the CO functions and other local functions like: local / cluster Leadership Team, Business Franchises Sx and VC, Supply Chain to ensure smooth transactions in line with Franchise needs.
• Ensure effective communications towards key stakeholders, both internal and external
• Support the implementation of changes through coordination of activities with the local / cluster and shared service centre.
• Permanently assess and adapt relevant processes and local / cluster organizational structures for CO processes to increase customer satisfaction. This includes optimization, automation and centralization initiatives .
• Drive collaboration and cooperation to deliver against aligned KPIs for main processes, drive collaboration and cooperation with in- and external partners, initiate, and manage improvement projects beyond CO with cross-functional teams (BUs, Finance, AGS and Com. Ops.)
• Ensure compliance of quality and regulatory standards as well as legal requirements, secure that all processes are well documented in SOPs and in line with the company requirements.
• Manage local/cluster CO cost centre in most effective manner without compromising service levels.

Position Details:

• 40 hours biweekly (0.5 FTE)

• Variable day shifts (5:15a or 5:45a start time) with every other weekend

Job Description:

The Laboratory Support Technician assists the supervisor and manager in development of laboratory competencies, and ensures completion by all Support Staff Technicians. The Laboratory Support Technicians are skilled at collecting specimens from all patient types including Trauma and Emergency Center admits, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Urgent Care, Pediatrics, Pediatric ICU, and Neonatal ICU. The Laboratory Support Technicians are trained and competent in many other areas of the laboratory including all aspects of specimen processing which includes use of the centrifuge, separating blood components as required for testing, micro set-up, referral lab, Point of Care, Media prep, Istats, urine dips, EKG's, etc. The Laboratory Support Technician demonstrates initiative to improve processes. Major Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the collection of blood specimens from all patient types including Trauma and Emergency Center admits, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Urgent Care, Pediatrics, Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU. Responsible for swab collections in various locations. Follows established procedures to accurately identify and label all specimens.
2. Responsible for responding to Medical Response Team (MRT) emergencies in the hospital and clinic setting, and may be asked to respond to Code Blue alerts.
3. Responsible for all aspects of specimen processing which includes use of the centrifuge, separating blood components as required for testing, etc.
4. Responsible for set-up of microbiology samples in preparation for testing.
5. Competent in referral lab which requires a high knowledge of testing, specimen packaging, outside laboratories, and insurance.
6. Competent in Point of Care testing including Accucheck, Istats, and urine dips.
7. Competent in setting up and reporting of EKG's.
8. Responsible for assisting in the training program, which may include preparation of training materials, facilitating bookwork, teaching proper venipuncture techniques, specimen processing, and mentoring.
9. Works with PBS, LIS and ordering providers to accurately order and bill for laboratory tests, utilizing the laboratory information system and billing systems. Understands government billing.
10. Utilizes analytical reasoning to research and evaluate complicated processing issues.
11. Works with specimens collected by lab and non-lab staff, properly processing, storing, handling and distributing laboratory samples to the correct testing locations, and may transport specimens between testing labs and collection sites.
12. Develops laboratory competencies and ensures completion of competencies by all SSTs within the required timeframes.
13. Assists in system maintenance and scanning of Future and done orders.
14. Works with patients, families and Gundersen Health System staff to ensure patient comfort and confidentiality in all aspects of the job, and provides excellent customer service.
15. Works with Gundersen Health System staff by answering phone calls about specimen collection requirements and other lab related questions to provide accurate information to facilitate quick access to lab information as needed.
16. Works with other health care professionals and patients to perform all SST functions to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
17. Other duties as assigned by laboratory supervisor or manager.
