Clerical Duties and Responsibilities: To act as a first point of contact to all patients, relatives, and healthcare colleagues visiting the department, ensuring that they are dealt with in a professional, appropriate, courteous, calm, and sympathetic manner. To deal appropriately and courteously with telephone enquiries from patients, relatives, GPs, and other healthcare colleagues. Ensure that effective communication within the Trust and between Hospital sites, GPs, and patients, are maintained. To be competent with the use of the Cerner / after training in accordance with required departmental standards of work. To ensure that patient details on Cerner /Prism are correct on arrival to the department in order to maintain robust patient records. To deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence, filing, and photocopying in a timely manner. To alert clinical staff to any patient delays or concerns about a patients presenting condition. To highlight incorrect/incomplete request forms to appropriate staff members and return in a timely manner for resubmission by the appropriate ward/doctor. To resolve data errors in liaison with clinical staff and highlight areas of poor quality data to improve the quality of the data recorded. To retrieve and file medical records and pacing notes and ensure that they are correctly tracked to the department. To retrieve investigation reports relating to enquiries from secretaries, clinical staff, and/or consultants. To use initiative and judgement when problems and complaints arise taking the necessary action to resolve the issue and/or refer to senior staff members. What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disabilities and Autism, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

Working 35 hours per week, shift patterns are 7am - 2.30pm, 2pm - 9.30pm, 7am - 9:30pm and working every other weekend.

You will be working at Gresham House, a 12 bedded service which is part of our Learning Disability and Autism division, and provides a specialist residential service for men and women with a range of Learning Disabilities, including Autism and Sensory and Communication Impairments.

Our Healthcare Support Workers are at the heart of providing direct patient centred care, supporting the smooth running of the general and diagnostic procedure outpatient clinics, the Medical staff, the Specialist Nurses and the wider nursing team within the department The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding, where you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of our patients. The role includes:- Assisting in the effective management of patients attending Gynaecology out patients including during planned and unplanned Gynaecological procedures, examinations and treatments Setting-up of specialist gynaecology outpatient diagnostic and treatment clinics including particular attention to infection control; and patient & equipment safety Assisting and support operator/clinician of specialist outpatient diagnostic and treatment clinics whilst maintaining good communication with patients prior to and throughout procedures Chaperoning patients undergoing clinical procedures and treatments, providing reassurance to patient and advocacy for the patient whilst ensuring patients privacy and dignity is maintained at all times. Providing a welcoming environment to women arriving for appointments Managing allocated clinics under non direct supervision of the registered nurse in charge Be responsible for maintaining and promoting the tidiness and cleanliness of all patient areas including clinics /treatment rooms, store room, sluice and waiting areas.

The Matron for Intrapartum Care will be a significantly autonomous professional clinical manager, responsible to the Trust for the multiple clinical services within the Labour Ward, Triage, Obstetric Theatres, and Call the Midwife Advice Line. The post holder will have a strategic responsibility with the Divisional Director, to ensure business plans, budgets, and workforce and staff development are in place to deliver a quality service for the Division and Trust. The post holder will represent the Maternity Services internally and externally as required on a regular basis and develop links with other managers and senior midwives/nurses.
