To take ownership of receiving and recording incidents and service requests, presented through a variety of mediums (face to face, phone, self-service, email) for a wide range of customers who use Nottingham University Hospital systems. To provide first line support via analysing and diagnosing as they are reported to the Service Desk, ensuring all relevant information is captured and recorded whilst resolving the majority of incidents at first point of contact using remote support tools where applicable to achieve this. Having a broad understanding of all IT support services, this will make a Service Desk Analyst effective when making decisions to triage requests efficiently and appropriately. Managing end user expectations through a structured SLA and Priority system while providing meaningful updates and information throughout the lifecycle of the request. The incumbent will be expected to convey complex technical information to members of staff in a non-technical fashion. To ensure that incidents not resolvable at first-line are escalated to the appropriate second-line teams/3rd party suppliers for further investigation. To initiate procedures to contact off-site support and progress 3rd Party calls to completion. We're looking for a talented and experienced individual to provide vital support to pupils and staff. Your role will include delivering personal care and addressing medical needs, all tailored to the specific requirements outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP), personalised learning plans, and care plans.

You will work 1:1 in the classroom, helping children understand and engage with their learning, while also supporting them in overcoming any barriers they face. Your daily impact will ensure each child feels valued, heard, and celebrated!

Position: Emergency Call Handler
Location: Nottingham, NG8
Start Date: 4th November
Pay: varies between £11.44 - £19 per hour, depending on the shifts you work
Shift-based role: 24/7 availability required, including night shifts
Temporary: cover for Christmas and New Year period (may be extended through January and February 2025)

Do you thrive in high-pressure situations and have excellent communication skills? Become an Emergency Call Handler and help make a difference when it matters most.

As an Emergency Call Handler, you will be the first point of contact for the public and healthcare professionals in critical situations. Using advanced clinical software, you will assess and direct patients to the appropriate care providers, offer pre-arrival advice, and ensure prompt emergency response through efficient communication with ambulance crews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive Emergency Calls: Handle calls from the public, doctors, and emergency services in both emergency and non-emergency scenarios.
• Pre-arrival Advice: Offer life-saving guidance, such as CPR instructions, over the phone while emergency services are on their way.
• Coordinate Dispatch: Input patient information into the system and communicate with ambulance crews and dispatch officers to ensure rapid deployment.
• Professional Interaction: Engage courteously with all callers, health service colleagues, and emergency teams, always ensuring a professional demeanour.
• Adhere to Protocols: Follow Control Room procedures, operational standing orders, and relevant guidelines.
• Clerical Duties: Keep accurate records of patient journeys, cancellations, and amendments.
• Relief Cover: Step in to cover for staff absences when required by the Duty Commander.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent Level 2 qualification), including English at Grade C / 4 or above, or demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.

Additional Experience Required:

• Experience Working with the Public: Proven ability to manage interactions with the public, particularly in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
• Experience with Computers: Comfortable using computer systems for data input, communication, and record-keeping.
• Interpersonal Skills: Experience interacting with a wide range of people, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism.
