Discovery is looking for caring Waking Night Support Workers in Taunton to support 7 people throughout the night, ensuring they have a peaceful night and wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the next day. Your evenings may involve a late night hot chocolate and films!

Hourly rate - £13.61 per hour
Hours - 10pm - 7am, 27 hours a week

The role may involve tasks such as:

- Carrying out “keeping safe checks” at regular intervals to ensure the people we support are safe and comfortable.

- Ensure that the environment is clean and sanitary.

- You will keep written records, using IT systems as required to help you including support plans, incident log and health and safety records.

- Creating a calm therapeutic environment for the people we support.

- Supporting people to make the most of their late evenings / nights when they wish to

- Provide personal care when required.

What does a live-in carer do?
As a professional live-in carer in the South West of England, you’ll provide personalised care that enables clients to stay in their own homes. We offer flexible rota patterns to help you balance work and personal life, and we welcome carers with at least six months of professional experience. You’ll stay with your client during your chosen rota pattern, caring for one person (or sometimes a couple) and following a tailored care plan. Process practice correspondence (paper, electronic and email) attaching it to the patient record, read coding accurately diagnosis, procedures, and investigations, identifying and carrying out actions, using the most current protocols and processes available Identify the complex or higher risk areas that require input or knowledge from the clinical team, including safeguarding issues and working to the agreed practice protocols. Processing Lab results within EMIS, following agreed protocols and standard operating procedures, ensuring safe and effective practice. Working closely with clinical leads if and when required to provide a safe and high-quality service to the practice Partake in training sessions for, and be competent in the summarising of patients Lloyd George medical records and supporting registration processes, following agreed protocols and standard operating procedures Partake in training sessions for, and be competent in in the completion of correspondence relating to non-NHS private work, following agreed protocols and standard operating procedures Receive feedback positively on your own performance and the teams performance. Both through the GP Lead(s) and directly, work closely with practice administrators and clinical teams to ensure that a safe and high-quality service for the practice is provided Work to an agreed workplan for the assigned tasks, following the agreed timeframes. Ensure that any shortfalls in capacity or increases in demand are escalated so that any administrative tasks are processed within the agreed timescales. Be part of undertaking new trials to test ideas for improvement and development within your role and team Be flexible in approach to work and demonstrate a willingness to support other areas of the business administratively as directed.
