OP Courage, The Veterans Mental Health and Well-being Service is an NHS mental health specialist service designed to help serving personnel due to leave the military, reservists, armed forces veterans and their families.

The Midlands Veterans Op courage is a partnership of eight specialist organisations that provide an integrated service across the whole Midlands region. The Birmingham Hub covers the west-midlands regional geographic area and works closely with Veterans to provide a military culturally sensitive service, while ensuring care delivery meets and addresses the issues of complex mental health needs, spirituality, equality diversity and rights in accordance with good practice and legislation. The service is expected to travel across the designated West Midlands geographical patch to ensure ease of access for our Veterans.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to develop their career beyond primary care, in a specialist service. The role is an opportunity to work with clients, with complex presentations, for extended periods, adapting existing skills to meet clients’ needs in a genuinely supportive multi-disciplinary team that emphasises flexible client centred working.

The successful candidate will be provided with appropriate clinical and management supervision, to maintain their BABCP accreditation, and access to continued professional development training to maintain and develop their clinical skills.

The main roles will include:

- Face to face, video and telephone work with clients with complex mental health difficulties as part of a team of professionals

- Work within practice teams including liaison with GPs, Community Mental Health Team, Third sector agencies and service users and carers.

- Networking with the wider health and social care system.

- To work autonomously within the team and possess excellent organisational and time management skills, in order to cope with the demands of the service.

- To have undertaken the "Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Care" course and be qualified as a PWP.

- The post holder will demonstrate respect and value service users' and their carers.

Advanced Nurse / Clincal Practitioner

Opportunity available for a Advanced Nurse / Clinical Practitioner (Level 7 & Prescriber) to work within an Urgent Care Centre, Based in Dudley or West Midlands

The team sits within an Urgent Care Centre with the role predominately be responsible for the delivery of evidence-based nursing services, working as part of the service multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. You will be working autonomously, the Nurse Prescriber will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, health prevention, well man clinics, as well as supporting the management team in the reviewing of clinical policy and procedure. You will have has access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis. As part of this role you will develop, implement and embed health promotion and wellbeing programmes and develop, implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for acute and non-acute conditions. You will support the clinical team in the development of individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients and Identify, manage and support patients as risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the patients health. Providing routine nursing care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF is a must and you will be able to prescribe medication in accordance with PGD and within own scope of practice and review medication for effectiveness, need and national guidance

The hours for this role are Part & Full Time

The hourly rate for this role:

Monday to Friday: £40 Per Hour
Saturday/Sunday: £44 Per Hour
Nights: £48 Per Hour

Op Courage The Veterans Health and Well-being Service provides specialist care and support for those due to leave the armed forces, Reservists and those who’ve already left.

The post holder will undertake a wide range of reception and administrative duties. These will include the monitoring, recording, and booking of appointments and managing a busy telephone line, the receiving of all incoming mail and ensuring action is taken appropriately, processing clinical letters and other correspondence.

You will provide an effective, efficient, and confidential administrative service to support the clinical team. There is a need to be able to work within a busy work environment with accuracy and to tight deadlines. You will work closely with a small admin team, yet need to have the ability to prioritise your workload and act on your own initiative is essential.

Applicants should have good communication & organisational skills, experience of using Microsoft Office with excellent typing speed and accuracy, it is a requirement to have Maths and English qualifications, so please ensure to add into your application form. Experience of using RIO would be an advantage.
