Winterstoke Hundred Academy in Weston super Mare are looking for a Learning Mentor to join their supportive and talented team. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.
What we are looking for:
The Learning Mentor will work with and support designated students to overcome barriers to learning by identifying specific difficulties and creating solutions. They will promote effective participation, encourage pride in achievement and raise aspirations to enable students to achieve to their full potential. They will deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as their social and emotional well-being.
The postholder will promote high expectations and high standards for a designated cohort of students. They will monitor and support academic and social development with specific students and work with other members of the pastoral and inclusion teams to support a designated student cohort.
Your opportunity:
In September 2024, we will have students in all year groups, being oversubscribed in Years 7 to 10. Year 11 who were our first cohort of learners are a slightly smaller cohort and we have a thriving sixth form with students in Years 12 and 13. The development of the new building, which opened in 2024, saw us nearing capacity as a split-site, medium-scale 11–19 Academy. We celebrate the fact that, as a new provision, our culture, ethos and values have been ours to define from the beginning, and we are able to decide what is important to take with us into the future as we grow.
