GTS is looking to appoint a Level 2 Learning Support Assistant to work one to one with an identified pupil, to start as soon as possible.
The ability to communicate clearly, adaptability to meet a wide variety of situations, a sense of humour and a genuine desire to support and motivate young people in their learning, and an interest in supporting the social, emotional, and mental health needs of young people, are all essential for this post. A good all-round education and proficiency in literacy, numeracy and ICT are desirable.Principle Duties
To work with an identified pupil across the mainstream learning environment. To implement agreed work programmes in line with their needs to support in and out of the classroom. To work alongside all staff in preparing appropriate learning opportunities resources for the identified pupil

The successful applicant will provide continuity of student learning and progression through the organisation of emergency cover in the morning and through the supervision of whole classes during the short-term absences of teachers. Additionally, when not providing cover, they will support the wider college in supporting student learning.

Role overview:
