An exciting opportunity has risen at St John’s RC Academy for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Principal Teacher of Religious Education who can work collaboratively within a large team and be an inspiring leader for others.
You should have experience of planning, delivering, engaging and stimulating learning experiences which meet the needs of all learners.
As the liturgical lead for St John’s RC Academy it is imperative that the successful candidate is a practicing Catholic to ensure all aspects of our school events to celebrate our Catholic faith are delivered fully.
About the School
Set at the top of Perth’s North Inch and overlooking the River Tay, St John's RC Academy is at the heart of the North Inch Community Campus. The 2-18 all-through school provides education for over 1200 children and young people from nursery to S6.

As this teaching post involves teaching religious education and is a promoted teaching post, the possession of a Catholic Teaching Certificate (CTC) is an expectation.

The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher and leader, with a track record of forming and developing excellent relationships and collaborative working practices with pupils, parents, and staff.
You will have excellent communication skills and have experience of positively engaging learners, families, colleagues, and partners.
You will be a Principal Teacher who can demonstrate a proven track record in achieving better outcomes for a range of learners delivering all areas of the RE curriculum.
You must be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate, engage and earn the trust of young people as you support their individual and collective needs.
You will be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual, keen to take on new challenges, and work creatively with colleagues across our campus.
