We are looking for a researcher to join our research team to investigate the benefits of plant bioactive compounds on animal productivity in a collaborative project with academic and industrial partners. The project is addressing the huge wastage of plant crops that occurs during their processing, through the development of innovative and sustainable valorisation strategies that convert agri-food waste streams into next-generation feed additives to increase animal health and productivity.

In particular, you will focus on the extraction and analysis of phytochemicals from differently processed raw materials and encapsulated formulations, using a range of methodologies, to evaluate their potential for application as feed ingredients.

You will have an undergraduate or masters degree in Food Science and Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, or a closely allied discipline, and a strong background in experimental plant bioactive research with good analytical skills, e.g. chromatography, spectroscopy and bioactivity screening methods. You will be a good organiser, a team player, be highly motivated and able to communicate effectively with other members of the research team.

The role
King Ecgbert School is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and talented specialist learning support assistant (autism) to join our integrated resource team.
Working within an agreed framework of supervision and direction, the successful candidates will deliver high quality, personalised interventions both in and out of the classroom setting, maximising the progress of pupils within the integrated resource.

• have experience of working with students with autism and related conditions
• confidently use their knowledge and understanding of autism curriculum to support pupils through individual, small group and larger group interventions

• work successfully with colleagues from all subject areas
• be well organised and flexible
• be able to use own initiative and work independently

What skills and experience we're looking for

Qualifications and training

• 4 A*- C at GCSE (or equivalent/or experience) incl. English and Maths

• A Level (or equivalent) in relevant subjects

• A relevant degree or autism related qualification is desirable
