The South East Genomic Medicine Service (SE GMS) seeks a motivated Genomics Education and Communications Support Manager to join our team and contribute to the delivery of SE GMSA’s Education & Training and Communications & Involvement programme.

Genomic medicine is becoming increasingly important to almost every part of the NHS. To develop the genomics capability and capacity of the current and future NHS workforce, and to embed genomics into mainstream clinical pathways, the South East GMS is delivering an ambitious programme of workforce engagement, education and training across the region.

· Manage any remedial actions required where GLHs deviate from the quality standards for genomic testing provision, seeking advice from the Genomic CRG as required;

· Work with the GLHs to ensure standardisation of genomic testing across the GLH Network including consistent interpretation and reporting across the sites, linking with the ACGS and agreed professional best practice guidelines (e.g. disorder specific or for validation and reporting)

· Review and monitor compliance to External Quality Assessment Schemes;

· Work with the Commissioning Lead to propose healthcare outcomes from genomic testing services, linked to the 5 domains of the NHS Outcomes Framework, and measure performance against these;

Person Specification

• Competent in testing for exam access arragements, be experienced in working with students on 1:1 basis and in small groups.
