The School of Civil Engineering and Built Environment is now looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join us as Senior Lecturer or Senior Teaching Fellow in Quantity Surveying. You will deliver high-quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with a strong emphasis on measurement/costing and contract administration competencies. You will be responsible for ensuring the curriculum remains current and industry-relevant by incorporating innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire students. Developing and maintaining strong links with industry partners to ensure that course content reflects current industry practices and trends is crucial.

For the Senior Lecturer position, it is essential that you either hold or are nearing the completion of a PhD or possess substantial industry experience coupled with chartered membership of a recognised professional body (e.g., RICS). In this role, you will engage in research activities that enhances the School's academic reputation, collaborating with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and seeking opportunities for external funding.

For the Senior Teaching Fellow position, you must have relevant industry experience or teaching experience in higher education. Professional body membership is also desirable. In this position, you will engage in pedagogical research that will lead to innovative classroom methods and enhancing the overall learning experience. Additionally, you will be required to contribute to the development and delivery of programmes in the Degree Apprenticeship provision of the School.

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is a globally recognised centre of excellence, specialising in research that impacts global health. Recently named Business of the Year by Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, and celebrating our 125^th anniversary this year, there has never been a more exciting time to join our organisation.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant or Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join the group of Dr Thomas Edwards within the Tropical Disease Biology Department, on an Academy of Medical Sciences funded project investigating the mechanisms behind an emerging antimicrobial resistance (AMR) phenotype in Escherichia coli.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative research team (also including Fabrice Graf, LSTM, Dept Clinical Sciences; Eva Heinz, University of Strathclyde; Liverpool Clinical Laboratories, NHS) investigating the key factors that influence transposon mediated beta-lactamase gene amplification, which has been identified as a key driver of resistance to beta-lactamase inhibitor combination therapies. The successful candidate will use a mixture of microbiological assays, cloning, qPCR, and whole genome sequencing in order to determine to what extent the organism sequence type, transposon type, or AMR gene impact the likelihood and extent of gene amplification whilst under selective pressure. This position includes a conference/training budget for the post holder.

Key responsibilities include:

There would be an additional expectation around the delivery of wider foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate teaching as required. You should hold a PhD in a related discipline and have experience teaching at undergraduate level. The department would welcome proposals from the BAME academic community, who have historically been under-represented in the profession.

This post will provide key support for NIHR-funded research to co-produce digital and non-digital alcohol interventions tailored to maternal populations (covering women trying to get pregnant, during pregnancy, and the first 5 years of motherhood). This is a long-term contract that will start from September and the school supports students with a variety of complex needs including ASD, non-verbal, downs syndrome, PDA and GLD.

Your new role
We are sourcing an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the school's SEN team. You will work with students who have a range of special educational needs, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will provide 1:1 and classroom support, helping students to access the curriculum and develop their skills and confidence. You will also work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans and monitor progress.

What you'll need to succeed
- A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
- Experience of working with SEN students in a secondary school setting
- Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant strategies and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive and flexible attitude
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
