The team are reflective in their practice and there is a strong culture of nurture and support for new colleagues. Mathematics is a highly valued and popular subject at the School. We are fortunate to work with a team of experienced and hard working specialists led by a very supportive Head of Department. As second in charge of our Mathematics team you will work in partnership with the Head of Department to ensure that standards across the subject remain high. The specific nature of the role will be discussed at appointment but would typically include leading a key stage, making a significant contribution to quality assurance, and ensuring that strong pedagogy within the department remains a key focus.

The team have enjoyed strong academic success over a prolonged period of time. At GCSE in 2024 students achieved an overall progress score of +0.42, whilst at post 16, 76% of A Level Mathematics grades were A*-B and for Further Mathematics, this was 93%.

Teachers at the school enjoy working and interacting with our students. They are mature, highly motivated and inquisitive making teaching a stimulating and rewarding experience. Many students continue to study Mathematics at A Level where we will typically have up to eight groups across our A Level course. Further Mathematics is offered at both GCSE and A Level and is also a popular option. The Mathematics Department is located in its own suite of modern classrooms and a staff workroom. All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers. We have invested in various software packages available including subscriptions to ‘Mathswatch’, Dr Frost, GoTeach Maths and MathsBox. The team are reflective in their practice and there is a strong culture of nurture and support for new colleagues. The embedded use of IT within the curriculum, especially the use of Interactive Whiteboards, has helped students in their learning. The team are always looking to develop their pedagogy, especially in how challenging concepts are modelled and explained and how learners understanding is checked and reviewed.

We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and passionate teacher to our Religious Studies team. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to work within a high achieving school where Religious Studies is highly valued and delivered as a core subject from Y7-Y11. At Key Stage 3 we follow the syllabus set out by the Peterborough Diocese, as well as following the AQA specification at GCSE and OCR specification at A-Level[MKD1]. The appointed applicant will be part of a vibrant and well-resourced department that teaches all our students from Key Stage 2 through to A-Level.

This post would equally suit an application from an early career teacher, who would benefit enormously from strong mentoring, or alternatively from an experienced teacher who is looking to develop their skills in a new setting. The successful candidate will need to be able to teach across all age ranges and abilities, up to and including A-Level.

What will I be doing as a School Teacher?

A School Teacher plays a critical role in supporting students' academic, personal and professional development on an ongoing basis.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Deliver training and support to a small cohort of 14+ year olds on Nacro’s School’s and Study Programme.

• Conduct initial assessments for all learners enrolled onto Nacro Education programmes ensuring the needs of learners are met.

• Develop appropriate learning resources, facilities, and environment to support high quality teaching and learning.

• Assist in the delivery of all accredited and non-accredited qualifications and support the practical and theoretical elements of the courses offered through the Study Programme.

• Regularly review and monitor the attendance and progress of learners and follow up as required to ensure learners achieve their targets.

Requirements for this role

• Teaching qualification CET equivalent or above. However, we can offer support to achieve a teaching qualification.
• Level 2 English and Maths.
• IQA/Assessor qualification is desirable.
• A DBS check is essential.

We are looking for the following skills/attribute:

• Ability to engage with learners from different age groups.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills - ability to deal with conflicting priorities.
• Ability to work as part of a wider team.
• Communicating to a high standard at all levels, both verbally and in writing.

The King’s (The Cathedral) School is a very special place to work educating children from seven years old through to eighteen. The School has an incredibly strong reputation in the area and is one of a very small number of state Schools that has retained close links to the Cathedral dating all the way back to 1541. We are looking for a highly motivated, resilient worker with the ability to work calmly under pressure. You will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm to improve services for individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and be able to organise and manage your work within set statutory timescales. You will be able to communicate well with people of all ages and from all backgrounds, demonstrate a positive and inclusive manner and keep accurate records.
You will be employed within the ALS Team in the Student Support Services department structure under the overall management of the Head of SEND and ALS. You will report directly to the SEN Coordinator for professional, personal and organisational direction.
Due to the ongoing emphasis within the SEN reforms and the continued focus on the Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP) we require additional personnel to support the needs assessments, annual reviews, statutory casework, delivering quality on time.
This role oversees a manageable caseload of SEND students, supporting their journey from pre-entry, transition to college, whilst on their study programme and their progression onwards.
Ideally the candidate will have a higher-level qualification in SEND or equivalent or be willing to work towards in the first year. We would also be interested in candidates who have a depth of equivalent experience in SEND as there is support available to undertake appropriate CPD for the right candidate.
You will also have a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.

We are seeking to recruit a Technician Trainer to join our Engineering team at Peterborough College. Working closely with the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of workshops ensuring that there are tools and materials readily available for all learners.
This is a hands-on role, supervising and coaching students whilst assisting the tutors. If you have a real flair for passing your knowledge onto others, a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to act as a role model, this could be just the job for you.
The ideal candidate will have experience within the engineering industry, a proven track record of organising and maintaining store rooms to an appropriate standard and experience of using relevant equipment and materials.
The ideal candidate will require a Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area, a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths grade C/4 or above), a Level 3 award in Education + Training/PTLLS or equivalent (or willing to work towards this), a Health and Safety or technical training qualification (or willing to other Level 2 equivalent qualifications.
It is expected that you will have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, which will allow you to have the confidence to work and support young people of mixed abilities and be able to work flexibly, prioritising tasks in accordance with importance.
