In this role as a Clinical Research Coordinator, you will spend your time at the Banner Research supporting the different studies, and eight new studies scheduled to start soon! Our position is located in Sun City, AZ.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for coordinating and/or implementing assigned protocols. This position includes collecting and recording medical data and history, assisting in patient assessments, and maintaining study files.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides study information and obtains relevant information to and from patients engaged in clinical studies, which includes: assisting in the recruitment and screening of volunteers; registering patients; providing information on clinical trials and protocols to interested participants in a timely and helpful manner; obtaining relevant medical history on candidates by phone and in person; collecting previous relevant medical records data on patient; explaining procedures and consent forms; compiling all information prior to the initial visit; responding to inquiries from study participants or collateral informants in a timely and helpful manner; updating databases with patient information; and/or, performing other related activities.

2. Performs tasks required by protocol, which may include obtaining patient medical history, systems review, phlebotomy, EKG, and cognitive assessment on patients. Collects vital signs. Maintains quality assurance on designated protocols. Collects data as required and assists in interpreting and evaluating results as required.

3. Triages adverse events and communicates with the research physician regarding the occurrence of adverse events. Collects information regarding indicated medical follow-up with the subject and collateral informants as needed.

4. Provides educational information to patients and their families. Serves as a resource and support person for patients and families by being a consistent person they can contact within the clinical research program. Provides information to the patient and family related to the healthcare of the patient such as health maintenance, prevention, and anticipatory guidance relevant to study-related diseases.

5. Ensures uniform implementation of protocols by completing required documentation in a consistent, accurate and timely manner. Assists in preparing appropriate IRB (Institutional Review Board) forms, informed consents, correspondence with sponsor, etc., in an accurate and timely manner. May participate in the annual IRB approval and update process.

6. Serves as a liaison to other departments and programmatic areas, as well as community agencies.

7. Ensures that primary referring physicians receive timely progress notes on the patient’s diagnosis and treatment.

8. May assume primary responsibility in the implementation and management of new clinical trials in a knowledgeable and collaborative manner.

9. Department level responsibility. Some positions may have frequent interaction with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and related clinical departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge of clinical research methodologies as normally obtained by the completion of a bachelors' degree in a healthcare field.

Experience typically gained through two to four years clinical research experience. Familiarity with medical and clinical terminology. Must have excellent organizational and task management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and study information. Ability to maintain knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing practice as well as Institute policies and procedures related to medical and nursing practice. ROLE SUMMARY

The Internal Medicine Research Unit (IMRU) is committed to finding cures for metabolic diseases and related complications. Our goal is to build a research team of driven scientists focused on developing a deep mechanistic understanding of the metabolic pathways driving obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and renal disease. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conceptualize and design experiments.

• Author manuscripts for quality publications in top-tier journals.

Analytical Research and Development (ARD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecule group at Pfizer is working diligently to bring new cutting-edge medicines to patients around the world.  Our team members use the latest science and technology to characterize and develop drug candidates from discovery to commercial launch.  As an Associate Research Fellow in ARD, you and/or your team will lead multiple projects and be accountable for the analytical development to assess the chemical and physical properties of Pfizer’s newest drug candidates, evaluate their suitability for progression into clinical studies and, ultimately, to commercialization.  You will have a strong passion for developing early career scientists and be skilled at guiding them to solve difficult technical problems.  You will also be constantly looking for ways to improve the speed and efficiency of scientific and business processes used in the analytical development of Pfizer medicines.

How You Will Achieve It

• This colleague will be responsible for developing analytical strategies in support of Active Pharmaceutic Ingredients (API) and/or pharmaceutical drug products (DP) across drug development phases, including, but not limited to supporting manufacturing process development, developing, validating and transferring analytical methods, designing stability studies for shelf-life assignments, and developing impurity control strategies.
• Lead and collaborate with colleagues and subject matter experts across ARD to assess the most appropriate analytical approach to support project activities, including use of on- and off-line analytical methodologies and computational predictive tools, modelling software and data visualization tools, where appropriate.
• Oversee the lab work of colleagues on your team(s).
• Coach team members to communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members, in presenting data at team meetings and in solving technical challenges that arise during development.
• Effectively interact and be able to influence colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• Critically review relevant sections of global regulatory submissions authored by team members in support of new drug approvals and subsequent regulatory queries.
• Support project team members by critically reviewing their data in support of their projects, in evaluating new instrumentation, analytical techniques/approaches and publishing technical papers.
• Proficient with a wide variety of software and information systems and the curiosity to continue learning new techniques to solve complex analytical problems.
• Proficient with a breadth of relevant methodologies such as, chromatography, dissolution, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, particle size analysis and NMR, with expertise in one or more of these techniques.

Qualifications

Must-Have

• Ph.D or MS in Analytical Chemistry or related field, with 15+ years of relevant industrial experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Extensive experience in leading technical and/or project teams
• Proven track record of coaching and mentoring.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new analytical techniques and solve complex analytical problems.
• The ability to use computational predictive tools, modelling software or data visualization tools.

• Maintain minimum M4 or MK18 qualification score of ninety-five (95) percent (i.e. 285 out of 300) or better on the DS qualification course of fire.

• Attend and successfully complete the DS BFFOC training course as outlined in WPS III IDIQ, Attachment 2, Training.
• Obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance or Public Trust certification, as identified in the TO.

The Opportunity:  

As an operations analyst, you’re passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need a research analyst like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. On our team, you’ll assist in the evaluation of data assessment strategies to help deliver solutions.  

You won’t go at it alone, you’ll work with our client and team to conduct research, prepare graphs and charts, and analyze and interpret programmatic or cost data. Once documented, you’ll help develop and present results, collaborate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings to improve program efficiency. In this role, you’ll use your passion for analytics and statistics to help devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. Use your operations research experience to develop technologies and concepts that advance the DoD.

You Have:

• 2+ years of experience with the DoD Program Executive Office (PEO) 

• Experience with preparing and updating cost estimates using ACEIT 

• Experience with using Microsoft Office, including Excel 

• Experience with supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers  

• Knowledge of Army Operations

• Ability to lead the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving program requirements, including assigning tasks effectively       

• Ability to perform and coordinate a wide range of management and administrative support and advisory functions   

• Ability to implement and adhere to budget plans

• Secret clearance   

• Bachelor's degree 

Nice If You Have:   

• Experience with SharePoint and TEAMS   

• Experience with Defense Travel Systems, Army Awards, and DoD administrative systems   

• Ability to conduct studies of administrative functions, assess operations program effectiveness, develop problem solving solutions, and obtain and organize data to improvement areas

• Ability to develop and improve procedures and processes and draft internal operating procedures   

• Possession of excellent analytical skills

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills 

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Data Analytics
