Reports into the Treasury Manager

OVERALL SUMMARY

The role is within the Treasury (Debt Management) team, and the individual will be working closely with other functions in the Treasury team. Responsibilities includes administering and maintaining the loan and swap book, as well as assisting in debt/ treasury related activities.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Administer loan and swap book (for new and existing facilities)

Qualification/Experience

Role and Responsibilities:

Insurance Operations

• Report to the organisation on cover arrangements, premiums and recoveries.
• Liaise with brokers on all documentations, discuss with any coverage issues time to time to assist commercial hubs on a timely basis.

Group Finance Manager (Shipping/Maritime)

Our client is a leading European ship owner with one of the largest fleet in the world. This position is newly created in their group HQ based in Singapore and will be reporting to the Group Financial controller.

This role is within the Financial Control (FinCon) team in Singapore and will work closely with segment managers, corporate team and other internal stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements in statutory financial reporting and tax compliance matters.

The role will be responsible for the reporting & management of the Company and Group entities under Maritime Sector Incentive (MSI) scheme with the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the following:

FINANCIAL REPORTING AND AUDIT

• Review of financial statements prepared by Fincon Segment for annual audit.

• Lead the audit of group and individual financial statements in Singapore; work closely within FinCon team to address audit queries related to entities.

• Prepare, review audited financial statements, and ensure submission and filing of annual accounts.

• Evaluate the impact of developments in the financial reporting, tax and regulatory regime and recommend course of action to ensure compliance.

STATUTORY AND TAX COMPLIANCE

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements of Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRCA)

• Drive and manage the tax affairs of the entities (Corporate tax, withholding tax & exemption, GST and transfer pricing)

• Work closely within FinCon team and tax agents in preparation and filing of returns under applicable tax jurisdiction.

MANAGEMENT OF MSI-APPROVED INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ENTERPRISE (MSI-AIS) SCHEME

• Liaise with MPA on scheme matters.

• Updating and maintaining records in MPA Electronic Tax Incentive (ETI) System.

• Review and compilation of local business spending report.

• Submission of annual reporting under the ETI system.

• Updating business plan and local business spending

projection with Fincon Segment where applicable.

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE

• Degree in accountancy or equivalent and Chartered Accountant qualification

• Overall 8-10 years in a big4 audit firm out of which 3-4 years of audit experience in a managerial position leading a small team with exposure in maritime industry or finance manager role with a ship owner.

• Strong understanding of accounting standards applicable to maritime industry

• Strong understanding of statutory and tax compliance requirements

• Exposure in compliance matters for MSI-AIS Award

• Strong preference for prior experience in Oracle ERP and EPM modules

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as this role require active cross-functional dialogue with internal and external stake holders.

• Strong preference for experience in creating or improving a finance function and controls as this role will involve creating and building a line reporting function.

• Strong preference for good working knowledge of excel, SmartView and Oracle BI tools.

Finance Director ( Hospitality)

Our client is a leading hospitality brand and would be expanding further with 2 more clubs in Asia in 2024.

Summary

The Finance Director will lead the Group finance team in all finance and accounting activities. They will assist the CEO & Founder with leadership of the wider business, and work cross-functionally with the other leaders in the business to progress the Group towards its wider commercial goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Overall

• Lead all finance functions, across Singapore, Hong Kong and Bali.
• Cross-functional leadership with the management teams in all markets.
• Get involved outside of the Finance Team and maintain connections with other departments within the Group.
• Build relationships with key business partners.
• Work across departments, and with executive leadership, and to drive business goals on a day-to-day basis.
• Assist CEO and Founder with new project development, pitching and execution.

Finance & Accounting

• Manage all aspects of day-to-day Accounting, covering General Ledger, AR (aka ‘Membership Finance’), AP, and all internal and external Reporting.
• Lead creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Forecasts for the Group, and the reporting of delivery against them.
• Manage teams, to ensure the team’s objectives are met to a high standard.

IT & Systems

· Display and inculcate expertise with business systems, to drive their effective use as a key reporting, control, and analytical tool.

People

• Assist CEO with management of HR function. (Note a must)
• Support and demonstrate our Brand’s vision, mission, and core values always, demonstrating and leading with integrity, accountability, and a commitment to success.
• Lead the recruitment and selection of finance team members.
• Maximise the effectiveness of the team members by developing each of their skills and abilities through appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.

Administration

• Ensure all properties are adhering to all Company Finance Policies and Procedures, and relevant accounting standards.
• Ensure that government-stipulated associate and tax legislations are followed.
• Ensure that an organized, up-to-date filing system is maintained for all financial records.
• Responsible for ensuring that all internal and external and governmental reports are compiled accurately and submitted in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 10-12 years of relevant experience in success-oriented environment and someone who has a hands on and strategic approach
• Experience working cross-departmentally to drive commercial action, working in small and large firms will be a big plus
• CA / ACCA / CPA / CIMA qualified or equivalent
• Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience in developing reports and reporting against them.
• Good exposure to different financial systems for accounting, project management, and group reporting.
• Strong team player with a proactive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and an analytical mind.

Senior Credit Analyst (European Fintech Brand)

Our client is a well established fintech brand headquartered in the UK within the payments space. This role will be working closely with cross functional teams in the countries and Singapore which is a regional headquarters.

We're looking for a strong Underwriter/Credit analyst with a background in banking/payments and/or financial analysis to join our Singapore team. You will be part of a team that is responsible for underwriting enterprise customer applications with a focus on analysis relevant to Business Model, Credit Exposure and enhanced Financial Analysis. This role offers a unique exposure to our core business areas, collaborating closely with our key internal players (Business Development, Sales, Risk, Legal teams and Top Management) and our high value merchants and partners

Responsibilities

● Leveraging experience, you will conduct business model analysis in-line with internal policy guidelines and apply complex evaluation techniques to achieve the desired results for complex deals

● Conduct proficient analysis of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements of complex business models and demonstrate a competent understanding of accounting principles

● Competent in underwriting high risk lines of business including travel, subscriptions, ticketing and events, securities dealers, gambling, amongst others

● Prepare persuasive summaries to assess micro and macro risks, mitigants and make balanced recommendations to present to management and the Credit Risk Committee

● Represent Underwriting in attending customer calls and meetings alongside Sales or Account Management

● Approve teammates’ credit submissions in line with delegated approval authority

● Identify operational issues and areas for improvement, and make detailed recommendations on how to improve the merchant onboarding experience

● Preferable if candidate possesses industry expertise, and can act as a subject matter expert in a particular industry(ies)

● Foster a culture of collaboration with key internal stakeholders, in particular Sales, and first and second line Risk personnel and Legal
