Role Opportunities
This post within Greenwich CAMHS provides the opportunity to be part of a large CAMHS service, providing support to families and young people across a range of care sectors. The post is part of a multidisciplinary team working with young people requiring assessment and intervention for a range of complex metal health needs.

There is a large psychology team within Greenwich CAMHS which offers excellent support, supervision, and opportunities for continued professional development. Early identification of areas for development and training are key in the preceptorship process and this role comes with allocated funding to access training identified through a Personal Development Plan.

Overview of the Post
To provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to clients across all sectors of care, providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy, offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other non-professional carers, working within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. The post holder will work as a part of the multi-disciplinary team which has close links with a wide range of agencies.


Band 8 Overview

This post is based in the experienced and established Greenwich CAMHS. This is a multidisciplinary service which offers care across a range of sectors.

The role includes the following: providing a qualified clinical psychology (or equivalent) service for children, young people and their families up to 18 years old; providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy; undertaking goal-based case management; supervising the clinical work of trainee clinical psychologists and other professionals; and offering advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues within and outside the organisation

Key Task and Responsibilities
Clinical:
1. To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to CAMHS based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care.
2. To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client’s problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.
3. To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
4. To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options; considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family or group.
5. To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients’ formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
6. To contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies.
7. To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of clients under their care and to monitor progress during the course of both uni and multi-disciplinary care.
Leadership
1. To receive regular clinical professional supervision from a senior clinical psychologist and, where appropriate, other senior professional colleagues.
2. To continue to gain wider post-qualification experience of practitioner (clinical / counselling) psychology over and above that provided within the principal service area where the post-holder is employed.
3. To develop skills in the area of professional post-graduate teaching, training and supervision and to provide supervision to other MDT staff’s psychological work, as appropriate.
4. To provide professional and clinical supervision of assistant/graduate psychologists and, as appropriate, to contribute to the supervision of trainee clinical psychologists.
5. To contribute to the pre- and post-qualification teaching of relevant healthcare staff, as appropriate.
6. To contribute to external and internal training programmes withinCAMHS
Management responsibilities
1. To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the team’s operational policies and services, through the deployment of professional skills in research, service evaluation and audit.
2. To advise both service and professional management on those aspects of the service where psychological and/or organisational matters need addressing.
3. To manage the workloads of assistant and graduate psychologists, within the framework of the team/service’s policies and procedures.
4. To be involved, as appropriate, in the shortlisting and interviewing of assistant/graduate psychologists.
Research
1. To utilise theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence-based practice in individual work and work with other team members.
2. To undertake audit or research as appropriate within the service, Directorate, or multi-centred research across Trusts and to supervise research and audit projects.
3. To utilise theory, literature and research to support evidence-based practice in individual work and work with other members of the service, Directorate and the Trust.
4. To contribute to the evaluation, monitoring and development of the multi-disciplinary specialist CAMHS.
General
1. To contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the postholder’s professional and service manager(s).
2. To contribute to the development and articulation of best practice in psychology across the service, by continuing to develop the skills of a reflexive and reflective scientist practitioner, taking part in regular professional supervision and appraisal and maintaining an active engagement with current developments in the field of clinical psychology and related disciplines.
3. To maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping including electronic data entry and recording, report writing and the responsible exercise of professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures.
4. To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to both the specific client group and mental health.

The Admiral Nurse will support, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care within Oxleas in order to improve the experience of carers/families affected by dementia with complex needs.

To help support the data collection processes for Children and Young Peoples IAPT (CYP-IAPT) within a multi-disciplinary CAMHS service. To assist in clinically related administration, completion of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work. Teaching, Training and Supervision:
• In common with all clinical psychologists, to receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with professional practice guidelines.
• To gain wider experience of professional psychology within the NHS over and above that provided within the principle service area where the post holder is employed.
• To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties.
• To contribute to the training and support of other staff in psychological care.

Management, Recruitment and Service Development:
• To assist in the design and implementation of service development projects within the service as required.

General

Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse – School Nursing

We have an exciting opportunity for a nurse or physiotherapist with previous experience managing respiratory patients, either in the acute or community setting, to join the innovative COPD team for 1 year.

The team comprises of a mixture of matrons, physiotherapists, a dietitian, a clinical psychologist, administrative support and therapy assistants. Clinical leadership is provided by a respiratory consultant from the LGT.

The COPD team delivers a wide range of services including:
• An SOS admission avoidance and early supported discharge services
• Annual review service
• COPD diagnostic service
• Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR)
• Self management education days enabling the patients to manage their disease in a much more proactive way.
• Home oxygen assessment and review service

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse/physiotherapist with the relevant experience who will support the team to manage their own COPD patient caseload. They must be comfortable and confident to work alone and within the large team.

The SOS service delivers care Mon- Sun service, 9-5pm and is managed by 2 clinicians per day, except the weekends, where 1 person is rostered on. A day off in the week is allocated for a weekend worked.

Computer literacy and the ability to use an iPad for remote working is essential.

The post holder will proactively manage a caseload of patients requiring complex case management in order to prevent hospital admissions and improve patient health outcomes.

The COPD Community Matron / case manager will be expected to achieve the competencies set nationally by Skills for Health 2005 (www.skillsforhealth.org.uk). These can be summarised as follows;
• To be responsible and accountable for providing expert care to COPD patients who are registered with a Greenwich GP
• Utilisation of advanced clinical skills and expert knowledge to plan, implement, monitor and review individualised patient-directed programmes of care to patients with COPD including health promotion interventions.

The post holder will be the Named Nurse for Looked After Children and Young People (LAC). By developing a child and young persons centered approach, the role will focus on multiagency working to help improve the outcomes and life chances of looked after children and young people.

Consultant Psychiatrist, Hazelwood Ward, 10 PAs

Hazelwood ward is a 15 bedded low secure unit for males aged 18 to 65. Patients are referred to the service from General Adult Services, custodial settings, medium security, as well as via Court Diversion. The unit also accepts patients who need to be recalled to hospital within the low secure setting and admits men with complex presentations relating to mental illness, personality disorder, substance misuse, and offending behaviour. Hazelwood Ward sits within the A2 (Acute admissions and treatment) pathway of the SLP (South London Partnership) and includes an area for Intensive Care or de-escalation.

The Consultant will be responsible for undertaking admissions assessments for Hazelwood Clinic and providing necessary Psychiatric reports to courts and mental health review tribunals.

The Bracton and Memorial Consultants are included in the local Consultancy Rota and are expected to provide reports for local risk assessments and consultancy.

The service follows the recovery model of care. The units aim to provide a safe place, support and care so people can recover and move back to the community as soon as possible.



The job plan will be 7.5 PAs DCC and 2.5 SPAs, with job planning details agreed following discussions with Clinical Director and Medical Lead, Dr Harneet Hundal.

The Consultant will provide highly specialised clinical care, function independently and within a clinical team, providing expert advice to ensure the needs of the patient are met by leading, challenging and changing practice within the clinical setting.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in an innovative COPD service which is an established community team managing patients with chronic lung disease under the care of Greenwich GP’s. The COPD team consists of a mixture of physiotherapists, matrons, an oxygen specialist, a dietitian, a clinical psychologist and support staff.

Previous experience in the health or fitness setting is required. It is also necessary to be comfortable working alone and also working alongside the larger team.

The Pulmonary Rehab assistant works closely alongside respiratory physiotherapists in the delivery of pulmonary rehab in the community.



PR is delivered in two community venues in Plumstead and Eltham. The post-holder will be responsible for independently organising the flow of patients through the Pulmonary Rehab programmes, ensuring the smooth running of the service.

The successful candidate would be expected to support the assessment of suitable patients who will be attending Pulmonary Rehab.

They will help to deliver the classes, and manage the administration of the PR service which includes accurate clinical record keeping, appointment booking and entry onto the NRAP (national respiratory audit programme).

Consultant Psychiatrist, Hazelwood Ward, 10 PAs

Hazelwood ward is a 15 bedded low secure unit for males aged 18 to 65. Patients are referred to the service from General Adult Services, custodial settings, medium security, as well as via Court Diversion. The unit also accepts patients who need to be recalled to hospital within the low secure setting and admits men with complex presentations relating to mental illness, personality disorder, substance misuse, and offending behaviour. Hazelwood Ward sits within the A2 (Acute admissions and treatment) pathway of the SLP (South London Partnership) and includes an area for Intensive Care or de-escalation.

The Consultant will be responsible for undertaking admissions assessments for Hazelwood Clinic and providing necessary Psychiatric reports to courts and mental health review tribunals.

The Bracton and Memorial Consultants are included in the local Consultancy Rota and are expected to provide reports for local risk assessments and consultancy.

The service follows the recovery model of care. The units aim to provide a safe place, support and care so people can recover and move back to the community as soon as possible.

Greenwich Time To Talk is the NHS Talking Therapies for Depression and Anxiety service (Formally known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies, IAPT) service in the borough of Greenwich. We opened in 2009 so have a long history of delivering a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and counselling, based psychological interventions through a stepped care treatment model to people with common mental health problems.

We are seeking highly motivated Psychological Well-Being Practitioners to join our valued PWP team. The team comprises a Lead PWP, two Senior PWPs, qualified PWPs, and trainee PWPs. The high profile team currently contributes to improving the quality of care and quality of life for people with mild to moderate mental health problems and also raise awareness of mental health across the borough.

Each Psychological Well-Being Practitioner will have clinical roles and responsibilities including the delivery of short term interventions such as Guided Self-Help, Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (SilverCloud), and Psycho-Educational Groups. They will contribute towards specialist project groups such as, older people, veterans, BAME, LGBTQ+ and service user led groups. Candidates must have a post graduate certificate in Low intensity interventions, qualifying them to work as a Psychological Well-Being Practitioner and to register with the BABCP or BPS.
