Alder Ward, is a 24 bedded unit based in the market town of Norwich , with easy access to Norwich City and the North Norfolk coasts. As well as rehabilitation the unit also provides palliative and end of life care when Alder ward is the preferred place of care. Main Responsibilities Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care to a named group of patients Work effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team. Work proactively within the team to achieve unit and trust goals and objectives. The working day is split in to two 11.5 hour shifts, a night from 19:00 to 07:30 and a day from 07:00 to 19:30. Your colleagues and management team will work with you during your induction to help you put your training into practice and answer any questions you may have. You’ll start building your own support network from day one – this will include your management team, colleagues and departments at Sonderwell Group. You will be spending your time with our client within their own home where you will be supporting with their daily routine. Your day to day activities may include & experience we are looking for: • Enteral Feeding • Medication Administration • Non Invasive Ventilation • Oral Suctioning • Nasopharyngeal Suctioning Supporting you Being a Sonderwell Nurse isn’t just about caring. That’s why, if you have a caring personality and some relevant experience, we’ll give you access to online and classroom training in specific complex care needs, as well as the chance to study for a relevant NVQ. Depending on the client, you may be working on your own or part of a team. If you wish and have the availability, you could provide to support more than one client. Before you start, you’ll have the chance to meet your client and their family. And when you do, you’ll have day-to-day support with a Care Co-ordinator or Nurse Manager always on hand to answer your questions. Maintain clear and legible patient records in accordance with both Trust and professional standards for record keeping. Take an active role in risk assessment, supporting the implementation of strategies to minimize risk. Ensuring incidents and near misses are reported, through promoting a no-blame culture. Ensure all staff acts in accordance with local, hospital, and statutory guidelines and policies including health & safety initiatives. Will work in accordance with corporate objectives and ensure that all staff is aware. Take all possible precautions to safeguard the welfare and safety of staff, service users, visitors, and the public, by implementing all policies related to health, safety, security, and risk. Be able to investigate incidents and complaints, respond to patients questions and concerns, share findings, and act on them to prevent re-occurrence
