As the resident expert in clinical informatics and health IT, the CHIO serves as the primary advisor to the Chief Medical Officer. He/she serves as a key leader and expert in the use of clinical informatics for the enhancement and support of health care to veterans and will represent VISN 9 on national committees and task forces and will ensure that the information and technology needs of VISN 9 are considered at the national level. • Planning, organizing, developing, implementing, controlling, and refining comprehensive patient management/clinical support within clinic.

The Chief of Operations Officer (COO) is located in the Operations Division, Fort Yuma Service Unit, Winterhaven CA. This position is tasked with providing leadership and management to ensure that the health center has effective people, operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Participate in all Executive level team management functions, such as Governing Board, Tribal Councils, Tribal Health Committees, Tribal Elder Committees, and other assigned speaking engagements.
• Participates in the development and implementation of both long and short term policies and plans for the healthcare delivery system.
• Forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; recommend adjustments as necessary.
• Assumes a leadership role in facilitating advice/guidance of personnel management policies for management of the health care system.
