Main responsibilities To provide leadership for change and service improvement within Suspected Skin Cancer Pathways. We are seeking to appoint exceptionally motivated band 5 Occupational Therapists to join our friendly and dynamic teams on our rotational scheme.

You will be treating patients with a variety of medical, orthopaedic and neurological conditions.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential. The Band 5 Occupational Therapy Rotational posts sit within the Therapies and Orthotics Directorate of the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. We are part of a large AHP service for people who live in East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.

This vacancy would suit those soon to qualify as an Occupational Therapist or someone already qualified, who is looking to work for a Trust that can provide a high level of mentoring and support on an on-going basis. We run a preceptorship programme for newly qualified practitioners, those within their first year of practice and those returning to practice.

MAIN DUTIES

An opportunity has arisen to join the Trust's newly established Complex Nutrition Support Team as the Lead Pharmacist for Nutrition and Hydration. This is to support the increasing complexity of the treatments that are provided within our hospitals in East Lancashire, as a Tertiary Centre for hepatobiliary surgery.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to further develop their skills and specialise within nutrition. The Trust's Complex Nutrition Support Team consists of a Dietitian, Speech and Language Therapist, Pharmacist, Consultant Gastroenterologist, Surgical Registrar and Nutrition Consultant Lead.

In addition to this specialist role you will also join the senior pharmacist team to support and drive the clinical pharmacy service and provide line management support to a team of junior pharmacists.

Consider and monitor access, experience and outcomes for Inclusion Health groups, taking into account local populations, ensuring alignment with LMNS Equity and Equality action plans. Promote the involvement of service users and their families as well as Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships (MNVPs) in service planning, development, co-production of information and care pathways and evaluation. Oversee the development and implementation of robust governance and quality assurance procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Take responsibility for the accuracy, timeliness, reliability, and appropriateness of data ensuring quality decisions can be made. Interpret data from various sources, including national guidance, to inform the development of project documentation. Devise, develop and regularly review service KPIs, risks and issues, in both Womens and Childrens/Maternity and Therapies governance. Monitor service performance against key performance indicators, identify areas for improvement, and take remedial action as necessary. Take a lead on analysis and reporting of specific target areas as agreed. Drive service improvement initiatives, implement changes, and evaluate their impact on service efficiency and patient outcomes. Work with Womens and Childrens and Therapies leadership to ensure that operational resilience plans are in place to maintain service delivery through periods of planned and unplanned absence. Lead on planning, policy and service development, disseminating information to the team. Report on the progress of the service to key groups such as NHSE, programme boards and represent the service at meetings, conferences, and external forums as required. Supporting Staff Management Liaise with PPHS Teams line managers at each Trust to help motivate and develop staff as appropriate. Contribute to appraisals and objective setting for direct reports and supporting staff development. Be part of recruitment of staff and, where necessary contribute towards formal HR processes. Liaise with PPHS staff line managers in regards to performance management and capability development of the LSC PPHS team. Provide training on perinatal pelvic health to other teams and appropriate stakeholders. Personal, Professional Development Continually demonstrate advanced clinical skills in practice and maintain, as part of continual professional development, up to date clinical specialist knowledge/skills in clinical field of practice, using information to effect change in practice and ensuring the effective dissemination of new knowledge Provide clinical advice and leadership to constituent organisations (including commissioners and providers) in relation to the PPHS delivery model. The post holder will: Assist the Lead Oncology Pharmacist, Lead Aseptic Pharmacist and Lead Clinical Trials Pharmacist on all aspects of the service, on matters relating to aseptic dispensing, the aseptic preparation of parenteral drugs, investigational medicinal products (IMPs) and the regulatory aspects of pharmacist supervision in unlicensed and licensed premises. Work with the Lead Aseptic Pharmacist and Principal Pharmacist for technical services to maintain and improve the pharmaceutical quality system and participate actively at quality management system meetings. Work closely with the wider aseptic team to ensure the smooth running of the aseptic units. Maintain a high quality, cost effective and efficient patient-centred pharmacy service in the provision of aseptic services. Assist the senior pharmacy technical services team to ensure that clinical trials are set up and conducted in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and aseptic products are prepared in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and all relevant medicines regulations and ethical requirements, to ensure the product is fit for its intended use. Contribute and support the Principal Pharmacist for technical services in maintaining the document control system, reviewing as per schedule any relevant procedures and worksheets. Assess the stability of new and existing products, investigate deviations, and determine root causes, and contribute to the development of corrective and preventative actions. Complete internal audit and quarterly unit inspections, identify gaps with standards and agree action plans with the Senior Aseptic team. Assist with the Planned Preventative Maintenance and Validations programme for the Technical Services Unit. Contribute to the development of other staff and provide professional leadership and supervision to the haemato-oncology/aseptic service. Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of haemato-oncology clinical pharmacy service, under the overall direction of the Lead Oncology Pharmacist Provide a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service in line with corporate objectives and government initiatives. Identify risk management issues and assist in developing safe systems of practice with the aseptic/chemotherapy service. Audit, monitor and develop medicines optimisation in line with Pharmacy Directorate strategy and objectives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the pharmacy team within the Acute Medical Admissions Units at Royal Blackburn Hospital. You will work with the Senior Pharmacist for AMU and on occasion ED, other AMU/Acute Care specialist pharmacists and technicians to deliver a safe and effective pharmacy service. The AMU Pharmacy service currently operates between 8am-7pm seven days a week.

We have an established team of non-medical prescribing pharmacists and technicians embedded within both our AMUs and ED and are pleased to be able to add to this service at an exciting time when pharmacist roles have advanced beyond all recognition and there is scope to be at the forefront of patient diagnostics and management and work as clinical practitioners if this is desired.

Post-holders will undertake a non-medical prescribing course to make the most of their abilities, and will be supported to undertake further professional or clinical developments in line with service needs. You should have completed your first year of your clinical diploma or working towards completion.

You will work a designated shift pattern to include weekends; this will discussed and open to negotiation (including fixed compressed hours )at interview. You will support the late night rota (main dispensary pharmacy open until 7pm) and/or the on-call rota on an average basis of one shift every three weeks.

• Deputise for the Senior Pharmacist in Medical Admissions as delegated and as designated in their absence
• Provide high quality pharmaceutical care to patients the assessment and admissions services
• Act as a role model in the field of clinical pharmacy and provide a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service in line with Trust objectives and NHSE initiatives
• Support the development of agreed policies and procedures for safe medicines use, across medical admissions areas and Trust-wide
• Work closely with other staff across "acute care" (ED/AMU/Ambulatory Care/UCC) departments to ensure the delivery of an integrated pharmacy service
