To provide direct clinical care to the newborn alongside the wider members of the multidisciplinary team. Be able to recognise and jaundice and participate in the care of babies requiring treatment of phototherapy. Play a key role within the Well baby clinic supporting babies who require readmission. Have a sound knowledge of the Baby Friendly Initiative and be able to support families feed and nurture their babies responsively. Attend the morning board round with the Neonatal SHO and Joan Booker midwife in charge to identify those babies that require neonatal reviews and to determine care plans for vulnerable babies.
