University Hospital Southampton NHS FT is looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to work as Specialist Doctor in the Corneal sub speciality. This post is permanent.

Ideally the candidate will hold MRCOphth or equivalent qualification, and have completed a corneal fellowship in a reputed NHS Trust. They should hold or be eligible for full GMC registration. However, applicants with a clear interest in academic ophthalmology will also be considered.

This post is an excellent opportunity for a clinician to develop their research and clinical experience in ophthalmology. It is expected that the appointee will publish research papers during the time in the trust. The successful candidate will participate in ongoing clinical trials. There will be opportunities to participate and develop surgical skills.

What you'll do:
The post holder will be involved in the development of primary/secondary and tertiary level corneal care in accordance with current NICE guidance. They will be expected to contribute to the development of corneal services, including the virtualisation of clinical activity.

Together with existing colleagues, the new appointee will assist in building up the clinical and academic excellence of corneal care provided by University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our corneal sub speciality team. The post holder must have full GMC registration, have completed a corneal fellowship, and have sufficient teaching experience in cataract surgery and corneal transplantation. Research, service improvement and publications in high-impact journals are desirable.

This new post offers an opportunity to provide highly specialist clinical skills across our Stroke Therapy service, whilst supporting the wider Neuro team alongside the Therapy Manager. You will provide clinical leadership to a newly expanded Stroke team across our Hyper Acute Stroke beds as well as downstream wards and support a team of OTs, Physios and Therapy Technicians. You will have the opportunity to support and plan service delivery with senior leaders and focus on quality improvement and research initiatives. Key Result Areas & Performance Indicators To undertake the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians Qualification. To attend college virtually to complete the virtual guided learning provided as well as workplace training within the partnership. Work on a rotational basis, gaining competencies and experience as defined by the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians Qualification. A practice/clinical supervisor will be allocated for each rotation and overall, the education supervisor will manage the training programme. Competence will be assessed through the completion of a portfolio of evidence and knowledge will be assessed through completion of marked assignments. There is potential that an end point assessment will also be required to be completed. It is a contractual requirement that the post holder completes all the educational activities within the period of the contract - failure to do so could lead to termination of the contract. The post holder will report to the section managers for supervisory responsibilities, and these will change according to the rota. Under the supervision of a Pharmacy Technician, you will: Agree learning objectives, collect evidence, and be assessed by your assessor/expert witness in each rotation according to the training plan. Attend college once weekly and take responsibility to develop yourself in becoming competent in the required knowledge and skills. Build your portfolio and complete all work for underpinning knowledge course in your own time. Collect evidence and prepare for assessments during work time. Undertake training on a rotational basis, in a wide range of duties which includes dispensing for inpatients and outpatients; supply of medicines to wards and departments; procurement and receipt of stock from suppliers and stock maintenance, and medicines optimisation. Meet regularly with your tutor/mentor, assessors, and NVQ coordinator to complete training and assessment plans in order to be found competent to meet the performance and knowledge standards of the qualification. Ensure portfolios are completed, as agreed for assessment/verification dates. Ensure standards and procedures are followed to a high standard and quality of work. Learn and practice effective communication and customer care skills. Develop and maintain links with appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team. Maintain safe systems of work at all times.

We are recruiting for the role of Assistant Facilities Contract Manager who will work with the Facilities Contracts Manager for the operational management of the facilities contracts and the service delivery with either appointed FM contractors or the EFCD team.

They will also ensure that UEL provides an efficient, effective safe and well-maintained facilities management service that can deliver the UEL vision and enable front line clinical and other teams to concentrate and deliver on their core business of ‘patient first’.
The working hours will be Monday - Friday working 7.5 hours per day on the majority on University Hospital Southampton site.
