About our new team member:
We are looking for a Speech Pathologist who has a special interest in one or more of the following areas:

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Occupational Therapist (OT), who will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our OT program. You will lead our OT program, collaborate with speech pathologists and other providers and ensure that our clients receive exceptional, individualised care. To support you in your role, you will have your own dedicated room and budget to purchase OT tools and resources. This role involves direct clinical work, as well as supervisory and administrative responsibilities.

A. Performs Healthcare Planning/Design Management
The position determines the requirements for healthcare projects in relation to the needs of the Healthcare System, inclusive of the parent site, as well as off-site locations under the auspice of the Healthcare System, whether VA owned or leased. Project needs are determined for the organization down to the department level based on a broad array of guidelines, standards, regulatory requirements and mission priorities. The position evaluates how to accomplish the requirements of the project and determines the associated risks necessary to complete the construction within the healthcare facility and identify ways to mitigate project risk.

The position provides a broad review of all disciplines of Engineering when applied to a healthcare environment to support construction document reviews and preparation.

The incumbent will independently determine the needs of the Veteran/caregiver and provide administrative support across inter-professional clinics and support centers. The MSA is responsible for scheduling and rescheduling appointments, referring patients to other medical specialty clinics, providing information to patients necessary to resolve complaints, interactions with both internal and external customers, reviewing and documenting clinical and administrative electronic health records (EHR); obtaining medical information from patients, coordination information and actions related to patient care and services; and scheduling appointments in accordance with VHA national scheduling guidelines. The MSA's responsibilities can include any point the Veteran interacts with the medical center while navigating their health services. This includes but is not limited to assistance with screening patients, visitors, and caregivers, assisting with Veteran's interaction with kiosks and self-service machines, clinic registration and scheduling. Technical reviews: Reviews and checks technical aspects such as drawings, specifications, quantities, costs, accuracy, completeness and conformity with requirements for planned projects where precedence has already been established. Participates in the preparation of input to procurement packages to ensure correct content and format of technical data. Monitors drawings and the methods used in their preparation. Attends meetings with pertinent personnel to evaluate progress and reviews completed work. Verifies data presented by contractors or other personnel and discusses any special requirements for specification control and source control drawings.

Long-term planning: As a team member, participates in projects of a broad and complex nature requiring approval of advanced engineering concepts by senior staff members. Assignments are routine in nature and guidance is generally available. To address long-term needs, participates in group meetings with stakeholders to discuss complex engineering and technical problem areas and proposed approaches. Maintains contact with design engineers, technical personnel of other government activities and private contractors to resolve common problems, such as exchanging information. Participates in studies to address problems in healthcare quality, safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. Utilizes a range of analytical techniques, statistical methods, and industrial and quality engineering tools, to collect baseline information that identifies limitations or potential improvements.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
