St Joseph’s Specialist Trust is a registered charitable trust comprising a special needs school, college, registered children’s home and adult supported living houses. We are located in Cranleigh, south of Guildford on the edge of the Surrey Hills on a 23 acre site. Our school and college students are age 5-19 with severe and complex social communication and learning disabilities, many with autism. We are seeking an EXPERIENCED SENIOR HR ADMINISTRATOR to join our Business and Admin team. Under the lead of our Director of HR, the Senior HR Administrator will provide administrative support on site within the HR team and also draw on sound employment law knowledge and empathy with others to support the wellbeing of our 250 staff.
This is a 52 week post and working during the school holiday periods is required. Hours of work, 8.30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (with ½ hour unpaid break each day). This is an onsite role. The purpose of this Senior HR Administrator role will be to provide administrative support in all aspects of the HR function, taking the lead with key focus areas, including providing personal assistance to the Director of HR, diarising meetings, note taking and meeting with external visitors in her absence as required. Other responsibilities under the direction of the Director of HR will include confidential data input and maintenance, attendance monitoring, supporting staff through health risk assessment, working with Payroll and Finance to advise staff of pay uplifts, such as whole Trust Performance Related Pay or Cost of Living rises, organisation and preparation of paperwork for capability and disciplinary hearings, Also working closely with other members of the team to share general duties and assist with their lead duties, such as contract variations and monitoring right to work restrictions, whilst as point of contact within the team, responding to staff queries (see Job Profile for full details). Candidates will be quick to learn and engage with new systems and processes, need a positive and flexible attitude and be pro-active with all aspects of the role including meeting staff and confidential filing. HR administrative experience, including UK employment law, is essential due to the responsibilities of the role and qualification to a minimum of CIPD level 3 or equivalent is desirable. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training and Safeguarding training as part of your induction at start.
