Your new company
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a permanent basis for an SME based in Woking. The business is currently going through a period of change and transformation (including migrating to the Cloud - Azure), and is looking for an experienced Infrastructure/ 3rd Line Engineer to help them deliver some of their core future projects.
Your new role
Working alongside the Head of IT, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will take ownership for the day-to-day operations across the infrastructure estate including, severs, networks, Wi-Fi, infrastructure, AV, end user support and security. We are not looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer (although Cloud knowledge would be very helpful), so this would be a great opportunity for an experienced 2nd/ 3rd Line Engineer with strong server, networking and virtualisation experience who is looking to take a step-up into a cloud role.
You will be working as part of a small tech team in the UK, partnering with the European tech teams to deliver current and future projects. Having placed/ known the current Head of IT for several years, you will have a very knowledgeable, supportive and collaborative manager/ leader who will work with you to develop your skills and career.
The organisation is going through a period of transformation and has several projects in flight and in the pipeline including: migration to Azure, Wireless Network refresh, AV equipment upgrade, Server refresh, Cyber project, and ERP upgrade.
What you\'ll need to succeed
You will have a proven 2nd/ 3rd line support background ideally having worked within a similar sized/ SME organisation supporting a broad range of technologies including: Windows Servers (admin/ maintenance - if you have built servers this would be advantageous but is not essential), wired and wireless networking experience, desktop and remote support (working alongside international teams), cyber best practice, aware of policies and procedures (investigating phishing emails and security threats etc).
Experience supporting any Cloud environment would be of interest but is not essential - this would be a great opportunity to gain exposure and experience with a Cloud migration.
Joining a small but passionate team, we\'re looking for someone with exceptional customer service and people skills, someone collaborative with a \'no job too small mindset\'. With the organisation going through a period of change, we do need someone proactive, with an eye for detail, who can help the business maintain good quality documentation to aid future change management.
What you\'ll get in return
Salary up to £60,000 - although there maybe some flexibility with this for the right person, plus a 10% discretionary bonus, this role is on site 4 days per week with home working on Friday, 5 % employee pension contribution, 10% employer, private medical (personal, partner and children), dental cover (personal and partner), 23 starting day annual leave plus bank holiday (31 days leave in total - starting entitlement), plus 3x life assurance.
The station is easily accessible by public transport with good train links and offers free onsite parking. This is a varied role, where you will be actively involved in a variety of projects working directly with the Head of IT.
