Your new role
Using established procedures, the mechanical Designer is responsible for new engineering design based on a given technical specification, as well as design modifications of existing product
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ability to take a general concept and develop it into a finished product* Work to schedule time lines for efficient releases* Communicate progress on tasks to direct supervisor* Create 3D designs and drawings* Produce working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials* Work with other members of the design team to produce a complete solution* Knowledge of GD&T* Participate in team design reviews and analysis* Improve existing tooling to enhance performance* Adhere to all ISO procedures pertaining to job responsibilities* Comply and follow all procedures within the Company quality management system* Ensures design for manufacturability* May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Your new role

As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for the maintenance of tooling and supporting the Toolroom Supervisor in the smooth running of the facility. • Preparing and maintaining existing tooling according to requirements

• Supporting coordination of engineering changes and supporting maintenance of spare parts.

To succeed in this flexible role, you should have a relevant time-served apprenticeship together with excellent hand tool skills and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Other essential requirements include:

• Experience working with tool room equipment including overhead cranes
• Experience in inspection equipment
• Previous repair of press tools, jig and fixtures or mould tools
• Experience using milling machines, lathe, surface grinder, bench grinder, etc
• Ability to follow the preventative maintenance programme
• Industry experience including the following is all being considered - press / stamping / injection moulding / Automotive / packaging / domestic tool room / contract tool room

This role will suit machinists with tool room experience, tooling or tool room supervisor experience with a background in tool and die repair and maintenance or CNC machining and jig, fixture and tool making.
